I gotta say, James Watson's legacy is super complex...

Like, he's got this incredible breakthrough that changed everything we know about genetics, but then there are these dark moments in his past that are really hard to ignore...

The whole racism thing in 2007 was a major red flag, and I think it's clear that Watson wasn't always the most considerate person when it came to people of color...
At the same time, you gotta give him credit for being one of the first scientists to really crack the DNA code back in the day. That was some serious detective work, especially considering how little we knew about genetics at the time...

And let's not forget all the good he did for medicine, helping develop new treatments for diseases like cancer and sickle cell anemia...
But, you know, with great power comes great responsibility, right?

Watson could've used that same energy to promote greater understanding and inclusivity in science, instead of making comments that just ended up causing more harm...

Anyway, it's a reminder that even the most brilliant minds can be flawed, but it's how we learn from those flaws that really matters...
