Iran ‘not in hurry’ to resume nuclear talks with US

Iran's Diplomat Says Country Not Pressured to Resume Nuclear Talks with US

In a recent interview, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country is "not in a hurry" to resume talks with the United States on its nuclear program. Araghchi emphasized that Iran remains open to indirect negotiations with Washington, but only if the US is willing to engage from an equal position based on mutual interest.

The conditions set by the US for talks to resume have been described as "illogical and unfair" by Araghchi, citing a requirement for direct negotiations, zero uranium enrichment, and limits on Iran's missile stocks and support for regional allies. These conditions, he argued, make talks untenable.

Despite pressure from reimposed UN sanctions and other challenges facing the Iranian establishment, Araghchi expressed his confidence that regional dynamics are turning against Israel, the US's closest ally in the Middle East. He even went as far as to describe Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "war criminal" who has committed atrocities.

Araghchi's comments came after Oman's chief diplomat publicly joined the chorus of disapproval aimed at Netanyahu and his hardline government. The Omani diplomat stated that Israel is the primary source of insecurity in the region, not Iran.

The Iranian foreign minister also pointed out that China and Russia have formally announced their rejection of the UN sanctions recently imposed against Iran by European signatories to its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

Araghchi's stance on US-Iranian relations has been shaped by a series of recent developments. Last month, Israel launched an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, which led to a 12-day war that killed over 1,000 people in Iran and inflicted billions of dollars in infrastructure damage.

The US administration had previously sent a message to Tehran via Oman, but the White House has not publicly confirmed its existence. Despite this, Araghchi remains open to resuming talks with Washington, but on his own terms.

man that's some intense stuff going on 🤯. i think araghi is trying to play a smart game here - keepin' the upper hand by sayin they're not in a rush to talk, while still hintin' at bein open for indirect negotiations. and omg, china and russia rejectin those sanctions? that's huge 🌟 like, it shows international pressure is buildin up on us. but i gotta feel for netanyahu, sounds like he's gettin himself into some serious hot water 🤕. and war criminal comment tho? not sure if thats the best way to get people on their side...

I feel like Araghchi is totally right about those conditions set by the US 🤔. I mean, Iran's already faced so many challenges and sanctions, it's not fair for them to be expected to just roll over and resume talks without any concessions from the US side. And yeah, I can see why he'd want indirect negotiations - direct talks feel super tense with all the history and tensions between Iran and Israel 🇮🇷🇯🇲. Plus, if China and Russia are rejecting those sanctions, it's clear that not everyone agrees with the US stance on this issue 🌎. I'm just curious to see how things play out now - will Araghchi get his way or is the US going to keep pushing for more? 🤔

I'm so done with all these diplomats talking about nuclear deals and sanctions 🤯🔥 Like who cares? Can't we just focus on the fact that Israel's been trying to bomb Iran nonstop and now they're blaming them for being a security threat?! 😡 It's like, come on, Netanyahu is literally a war criminal and everyone knows it! 🚫 How many more times do you have to get bombed before you realize who the real aggressor is?!

And don't even get me started on these UN sanctions that China and Russia just rejected. Like, what's next? Are we going to start imposing sanctions on the US too?! 😒 It's all so back and forth with no one really taking a stand for what's right.

I'm literally so frustrated with all this diplomatic dance. Can't we just have a real conversation about how to solve these problems instead of just playing politics?! 🤷‍♀️

I feel kinda bad for both sides, you know? 🤔 Iran's got some legit concerns about being pressured into talks without any real consideration from the US side. And at the same time, the US has a right to express its worries about Iran's nuclear program. But, gotta wonder if the conditions they're asking for are too harsh? 🤷‍♂️ I mean, indirect negotiations can be tough to get traction, but forcing direct talks without some flexibility might just stall things forever.

And oh man, Netanyahu and Israel getting trashed like that... it's a sensitive topic. Can't we all just try to talk it out instead of throwing shade? 😒 China and Russia coming to Iran's aid is a positive sign, though! Maybe there's room for a compromise after all. What do you think? Should the US be more open to negotiations, or are they right to stand firm on their concerns? 🤝

OMG u guys I was just thinking that Iran is like totally stuck in between these huge powers right? 🤯 China and Russia are all about supporting them now and the US is still super frustrated... Abbas Araghchi's comments were pretty interesting btw he seems like a straight shooter, kinda like my bro 👍 but at the same time his views on Netanyahu are, like, SO intense 🙅‍♂️ I mean who calls someone a war criminal? 🤔 that's gotta be some heavy stuff for Israel to deal with... what do u guys think is gonna happen next? 🤯
