Indian police raid home of environmental activists over anti-fossil fuel campaign

🤯 this raid on Harjeet Singh's home feels like a major overreach to me... I mean, come on £500k is not that much money 🤑 and his group has been doing some great work on fossil fuel non-proliferation - it's like they're trying to silence him just because he's rocking the boat a bit 💪

and what's with all these suspensions of licenses to receive foreign funding? doesn't this go against everything our governments should be promoting - transparency and accountability? 🤔

I'm not saying Harjeet or Jyoti are innocent, but it feels like there's some corruption going on here that we need to get to the bottom of...

This is getting crazy 🤯... I mean, what's next? Raids on scientists just because they're studying climate change? It's like they think Satat Sampada was some kind of shell company or something. £500k is a lot of money, but not that hard to explain how it got there 💸. And now they're shutting down licenses for foreign funding? That's just gonna stifle all the good work these activists are doing 🌎. I don't think the FFNPT initiative is a bad thing, it's just one more tool in the fight against climate change 🚀... but you have to wonder what other strings are being pulled here 🤔. The gov't needs to get its act together and start trusting these folks instead of trying to silence them 🙄.

🤯 just read about this news and I'm SHOOK 🚨. 500k pounds is a lot of money, right? 💸 but what really gets me is that Satat Sampada has been shut down by the gov't before and they're still operating now? 🤔 it's like they're playing with fire 🔥 and trying to silence Harjeet Singh and his wife. 💕 I'm not surprised though, India's got a history of cracking down on activists who dare to speak truth to power 💪.

anyway, did you know that there are over 100,000 environmental groups in India? 🌳 and most of them are just trying to do good work for the planet 🌎. but the gov't is always finding ways to shut them down or silence their voices 🔇. it's like they're afraid of what the public might find out if they investigate 💡.

oh, and btw, did you know that climate change is responsible for 100k+ deaths per year in India alone? 🤯 those deaths are preventable with proper policies and regulations, but the gov't seems to be more interested in lining the pockets of fossil fuel companies 💸. it's just so frustrating 😩.

on a related note, have you seen these stats on environmental activism in India? 📊

* 75% of Indians support stricter climate change laws
* 60% of Indians think gov't is not doing enough to protect the environment 🌳
* 40% of Indians are willing to take to the streets to protest climate change (but they're often met with violence and repression) 😔
