'If you ignore emissions, we did great': Germany's challenging fight to go green

I think Germany's climate situation is pretty messed up right now 🤯. On one hand, they've made some great strides with renewables, but on the other, they're still relying on fossil fuels and haven't got their act together when it comes to actual action. It's like they want to be a green leader, but aren't sure what that even means in practice 🤔.

And don't even get me started on climate sceptics like the AfD showing up in opinion polls – it's like Germany is stuck between being all eco-friendly and being all "hmm, let's just go with whatever" 😒. The EU's Green Deal is trying to push for more action, but it feels like they're barking up the wrong tree if they think a few policy changes are gonna solve everything 🌿.

It's also got me thinking that we can't keep ignoring the root causes of climate change, like how people actually consume and live their lives. We need to start having real conversations about what's driving emissions growth and how we can make lifestyle changes that don't just benefit us but the planet too 🚮💨.
