I'm a bit surprised about Brendan Nelson being appointed as the chair of HSBC 
. I mean, he's got experience and all that, but six to nine years? That sounds like a pretty long commitment 
. What if there are other issues coming up that need someone with fresh perspective? Or what if he decides to step down before his term is over? 
It's good that they finally found someone, I guess, but now we just have to wait and see how it all plays out
