HMRC gave a refund from my tax account to fraudster making repayment claim

😱 I'm literally fuming when I think about this! How can a reputable org like HMRC mess up so badly? 🤯 Like, who lets scammers get access to people's accounts?! And what's with the lack of communication from HMRC to the poor taxpayer who got hijacked?! They should've been keeping him in the loop 100%. 💬 The fact that this has happened not once but multiple times is super concerning - £47m stolen already, and now this?! 🤑 It's a wake-up call for everyone involved! We need some serious system overhaul ASAP to prevent this from happening again. 👊

Ugh, this is so frustrating! 🤯 how can HMRC mess up like this?! 🤔 they're supposed to be protecting people's info not letting scammers get away with it... 13 other people got taken advantage of too?! that's just awful... and what really gets me is the lack of communication from HMRC to the taxpayers... shouldn't they be keeping them in the loop about any suspicious activity on their accounts?! this whole thing just smells like a big mess! 😡

Ugh, can you believe this? Someone gets a refund meant for them, but actually ends up with cash because of some dodgy impersonator! 🤦‍♂️ It's not just the £2,500 that's the problem, it's the fact that 13 others have been scammed like this too... and HMRC should've caught on sooner! They kept saying they were working on it, but clearly didn't. 😔 And to make matters worse, some people think that scammers might've gotten their hands on the firm's computer system or data from phishing emails... that's just not good enough! 🚫 We need better security and more communication between HMRC and taxpayers. It's just not fair when these scammers take advantage of a mistake like this! 😡

Ugh, I'm still shaking my head over this 🤯! Who can believe that HMRC would let a scammer get away with £2,500? It's just not right 😡. And now 13 other people have fallen victim too... 13?! That's disgusting 🚽. I mean, how hard is it to keep track of who owes what tax? It seems like such a simple thing, but apparently HMRC needs help with that 💔.

I'm so tired of hearing about scammers exploiting weaknesses in the system 😤. Can't they just use their own two brains for once? 🙄 And what's with all these apologies and promises to update accounts... does anyone actually follow through on those? 🤷‍♀️ I'm just frustrated that regular people like my friend who got hit by this scam are left to deal with the fallout 😒.

Ugh, this is just soooo frustrating 🤯... I mean, can't HMRC just get it together? It's like they're playing a never-ending game of Whac-A-Mole - every time they think they've fixed one problem, another one pops up. And to make matters worse, 13 other people have been affected by this scam?! That's just devastating 🤕... I remember when I used to pay my taxes online and it was so seamless... now it feels like a minefield. And what really gets my goat is that they're not taking responsibility for their own security measures 😡... if only they'd listened to those warnings from last June about the £47m hack! This whole thing just reeks of incompetence 🙄.

🤯 I mean, come on! £2,500 goes from one innocent person's account to a scammer's? It's just not right! 😡 And to think it happened because of some poor security measures? Unbelievable! 🤦‍♂️ The fact that HMRC didn't catch this earlier is just a mess. I'm surprised they're not being more proactive about protecting people's info.

It's also pretty shady that the scammer had to go through the victim's accountant to get access to the account in the first place. That raises some serious questions about how sensitive info is handled. 🤔 And what really gets my goat is that 13 other people were affected by this same scam. It's not just a one-off, it's a systemic problem! 👎

I think HMRC needs to step up their game and make some real changes to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. The lack of communication with the taxpayer throughout this process is just icing on the cake. 🍰 Who doesn't want to be notified when their account has been compromised? It's basic human decency! 😊
