Here's how a San Jose home transformed into a magical Harry Potter place for Halloween

In a San Jose home transformed into a magical world of Harry Potter, hundreds of people flocked to experience the wizardry for themselves this Halloween season. The Petersons' Victorian home, dubbed "the Wizarding World," is a labor of love that has become an annual tradition.

"We love creating things and entertaining people - it's a way for us to have a hobby that makes us happy and spreads joy to visitors," Britta Peterson explained, donning her Hogwarts attire as Professor McGonagall. The homeowner couple sets up an immersive experience with intricate details, transforming their yard into the enchanted realm of Hogwarts.

The themed event, running over 12 nights, welcomed an average of 500 visitors from across the Bay Area, all for free but in support of the nonprofit Give Kids The World Village. This year's goal was $25,000 and organizers are on track to reach it.

For those who attended, the experience was nothing short of enchanting. Couples from nearby cities such as Santa Clara and Mountain View praised the homeowners' dedication to their craft, saying that every detail had been meticulously thought out to transport visitors back in time.

"We have made tremendous efforts in making sure every single detail is perfect - it's wonderful because when your heart is activated, you know you just want to be a kid again," said Sabina Nasibullina of Mountain View. Her partner, Leo Fedorov, added that even the simplest tasks brought him joy, like wearing his chosen outfit.

San Jose Fire Department representatives were on hand, handing out glowsticks to ensure visitors' safety as they trick-or-treated throughout the property. According to Captain Ben Naranjo, accidents do double during this holiday season, and the firefighters take their role in keeping people safe very seriously.

This marks the fifth year the Petersons have hosted the Harry Potter-themed event and has distributed 10,000 glowsticks so far, a testament to its enduring popularity.

πŸŽƒ I just loved reading about the Petersons' magical Harry Potter world! πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ It's amazing how their passion project can bring so much joy to people, especially kids. The attention to detail is insane, from Professor McGonagall's costume to the entire Hogwarts yard. πŸ’« What I love most is that it's all for a good cause - Give Kids The World Village nonprofit is definitely doing some great work 🌟.

I can only imagine how immersive and enchanting it must be to walk through this magical world, especially on Halloween night when people are already in the right mood for fantasy. πŸ˜„ And I'm glad that San Jose Fire Department reps were there to ensure everyone's safety - accidents do happen during peak seasons πŸš’.

What's also interesting is how this event has become an annual tradition, with the Petersons consistently going above and beyond to create something special. 10,000 glowsticks so far? That's dedication πŸ’–!

I mean, can you imagine walking into someones home and instantly feeling like you're in Hogwarts? πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈ That's what happened for all those people who visited the Petersons' "Wizarding World" this Halloween season! πŸŽƒ They've really outdone themselves with the details - it's like stepping into a movie set. And the best part is, they did it all for free (well, not really free, but in support of a great cause)! πŸ’– It's amazing how something as simple as decorating your yard can bring so much joy to others. I'm definitely tempted to check out this event next year! 😊

I'm telling you, it's all about manipulating our perceptions πŸ€”. They're creating this magical world of Harry Potter just to distract us from the real issues at hand πŸ€‘. I mean, think about it, 500 visitors every night for free, that's a lot of propaganda 😏. And they're raising money for Give Kids The World Village, which sounds like a legit charity, but what are their true intentions? πŸ’Έ Maybe they're using it to fund some kind of mind control experiment or something πŸ€–. And have you seen the level of detail in this Wizarding World? That's just code for "we want to control your perception of reality" πŸ“š. Mark my words, there's more to this than meets the eye πŸ”.

omg I'm soooo jealous 🀣 that I didn't think of hosting my own Harry Potter party at home! like, who needs rent when you can just transform your whole yard into Hogwarts? πŸ˜‚ the petersons are literally goals πŸ’– their dedication to making this event happen is seriously inspiring. I mean, 10k glowsticks? πŸŽ‰ that's some serious commitment to spreading joy (and also probably a lot of cost). anyway, it's awesome that they're supporting a great cause and making it free for the community. now if only my neighbors would join in on the fun... πŸ˜‰

πŸ€” This whole thing feels like a really nice idea, but you know, it's also kinda overkill for one house in San Jose... I mean, 500 people from the Bay Area? That's a lot of traffic and strain on those pipes πŸ˜…. And all for free? It sounds like they're just using it as an excuse to party πŸŽ‰. Don't get me wrong, I love the enthusiasm and all, but someone needs to think about the practicalities here... how are they gonna clean up after all that? πŸ’¦

😊 I was just thinking about how much I love trying new recipes on my slow cooker... like that Japanese beef stew thingy, you know? 🍲 Anyway, what's up with the Harry Potter theme being so popular every year? Can we talk about how cozy a Hogwarts-themed home sounds? Like, who wouldn't want to have a McGonagall-themed dinner party? πŸ°πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“

omg i cant even 🀯 this harry potter themed house is literally the coolest thing ever! i mean who needs diagon alley when you can walk into someone's backyard and feel like youre in hogwarts? πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ i love how they did it all for free too, especially since its supporting a great cause. $25k is pretty amazing if they hit that goal πŸ€‘ but honestly what really matters is the joy they brought to so many people this halloween season. and glowsticks from the fire department? genius πŸ”¦ like who needs safety gear when you can have magic sparkles?
