the whole thing just feels so reckless , you know? like, we're talking about people's lives and deaths here, and just brushing it off as a military action to protect America... what's the actual plan here? and who gets to decide when it's okay to use force in these waters? seems to me like Trump is using this as an excuse to flex his muscles and show some tough love. but let's be real, we all know that's not gonna solve anything . and Hegseth justifying it by saying the president has the power to do whatever he wants... that's a pretty slippery slope, if you ask me
what's good with this? so he's saying Trump can order strikes as he sees fit? like, no oversight or accountability at all? that's super sketchy to me i need some credible sources on this operation before i start trusting Hegseth's assessment. how exactly did the US determine who was on those boats and who was a 'designated terrorist organization'? what about the international law implications? seems like just another example of the US flexing its military might without thinking through the consequences
I mean come on ... a Defence Sec can just say whatever he wants and it's like the forum is all "ok bye" ? I'm not saying it's his fault, but seriously, 87 people dead and no one asks for the context of the situation? What about human rights or international law? Is that too complicated to understand? And what about the experts who say there's a difference between the war on terror and what they're doing now? It feels like the US just wants to do whatever it wants without anyone holding them accountable .
idk why the US gov is still trying to play god with international law . like, they're already having major issues on their own soil, and now they wanna swoop in and start taking out cartel boats? what's next, just cuz you're a "designated terrorist organization" doesn't mean you should get taken down without a trial . it's all about power trips and playing hardball, imo. and btw, china and russia are like, totally not gonna let them just resume nuclear testing on their own terms... that's just begging for more trouble .
