Hearts stay clear of Celtic after Braga rescues late point against title rivals

Hearts' Title Bid Stays Alive After Late Point Against Celtic

A dramatic 1-1 draw at Tynecastle Park saw Hearts move four points clear of title rivals Rangers, thanks to a late equalizer from Stuart Findlay. Despite being outplayed for much of the contest, the Scottish Premiership leaders secured a crucial point that keeps their championship hopes alive.

The match got off to a frenetic start, with Celtic taking the lead through Benjamin Nygren's free-kick. However, Hearts responded well, with debutant Marc Leonard playing a key role in equalizing just before halftime. The Birmingham loanee dragged Nygren down outside the area, and his teammate took the subsequent free-kick. But Hearts goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was equal to it, denying the visitors.

The match continued to ebb and flow, with both teams creating chances but neither able to find a winner. Just when it seemed like Celtic were going to hold on for the three points, Stuart Findlay popped up with a header in the 90th minute to level the score.

However, Hearts' hopes of coming from behind twice were dealt a blow just before the end. Auston Trusty was sent off for a clear red card, and his absence seemed to tell as Braga finally broke through when Sabah Kerjota's cross landed at goalkeeper Schmeichel's feet.

But it was too little, too late for Celtic, who had come from behind twice in this very same fixture just weeks ago. The visitors' vulnerability at set pieces ultimately proved their downfall once again, with Claudio Braga scoring the winner in stoppage time to seal a hard-fought 2-1 victory for Hearts.

Manager Martin O'Neill acknowledged that his side were fortunate to escape with a point, but he was still proud of his team's performance. "We knew at one minute to three today that we had a tough time and we still have a tough time because another game has gone past, but we're still in it," he said.

Meanwhile, Rangers manager Derek McInnes remains confident that his side can catch up with Hearts in the title chase. "We are confident and enjoying where we are... But we are well aware that some big clubs are desperate to be where we are and so we have to keep improving."

I'm totally sure that Celtic was robbed of that win ๐Ÿคฃ, but at the same time, I think Hearts got away with a lucky point ๐Ÿ˜‚. Stuart Findlay's header was such a fluke goal, but you can't deny the drama of it all! On the other hand, Auston Trusty's red card was completely justified - he had to go ๐Ÿšซ. But still, that late Braga winner is going to haunt Celtic's dreams for weeks... or maybe they'll just shrug it off like pros ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ. Anyway, it's Hearts' title bid staying alive, which is pretty cool I guess ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Can Rangers keep up the pressure? ๐Ÿค”

omg what a match ๐Ÿคฏ! i think hearts got lucky, like they were expected to win but Celtic came back twice already this season ๐Ÿ˜‚. but seriously though, Hearts' defence was shaky at times & they could've taken the lead earlier, but Schmeichel made some crucial saves ๐Ÿ’ฆ. Auston Trusty's red card was a major blow tho ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. on the other hand, Celtic just couldn't capitalize on their chances ๐Ÿค”. braga did finally break through in stoppage time tho ๐Ÿ’ฅ. i think Hearts' title hopes are still alive but they need to step up their game next week ๐ŸŽฏ.

omg can't believe hearts just kept their title hopes alive lol ๐Ÿคฏ they literally came from behind twice in this fixture last week & now they're 4 points clear of rangers! schmeichel was a total boss in that match, i'm telling u his reflexes are insane ๐Ÿ˜ฒ findlay's header in the 90th min was pure magic โค๏ธ and braga's winning goal was just cruel... i mean what can you do when u just don't get breaks lol?! anyway cant wait for the next match between hearts & rangers, its gonna be epic ๐Ÿ’ฅ

I'm not gonna lie, this result for Hearts is a huge lifeline for their championship hopes, but it's also super frustrating that Auston Trusty got sent off ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, the guy was supposed to be calm and composed under pressure, and instead he loses his cool and gets a red card.

On the other hand, Stuart Findlay's goal in the 90th minute is pure redemption for Hearts fans โ€“ it shows that they can still mount an comeback when things seem lost ๐Ÿ’ช. And let's give credit where credit is due, Celtic were outplayed for most of the game, and their set piece vulnerability ultimately cost them the win ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I think Hearts' draw at Celtic will give them a huge confidence boost, but it also puts more pressure on Rangers to keep up with the pace. Can they do it? We'll have to wait and see ๐Ÿ˜….

omg i was way late on this thread, lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ i finally caught up and i gotta say hearts are still in it ๐Ÿ™Œ they got a lucky point but that draw is massive for them. i dont think celtic can afford to drop points like that, especially with braga coming back into the mix โšฝ๏ธ rangers should be worried tho, this just means they have to keep putting pressure on hearts. gotta see how the rest of the season plays out ๐Ÿค”

idk how long rangers think they can keep up w/ hearts tho ๐Ÿคฏ they're 4 points clear and rangers can't even get a win against celtic! ๐Ÿ˜‚ anyway, i'm loving the drama of this league atm. that late equalizer from findlay was insane! and trusty's red card was clutch (or should i say unlucky lol). braga's cross into schmeichel's feet tho... what a goal! ๐ŸŽฏ

I'm not convinced Celtic's 2-1 loss to Hearts is a huge setback for their title hopes ๐Ÿ˜. They've come from behind twice in this exact same fixture just weeks ago, which shows they're adaptable. Plus, Braga's equalizer was super lucky - it landed at Schmeichel's feet, no need to panic.

The Scottish Premiership is so unpredictable right now, and I think that's what makes it exciting. We've got Hearts, Rangers, and Celtic all neck-and-neck for the title, and every game matters ๐Ÿ’ช. As long as these teams can keep producing results like this, we're in for a thrilling finish to the season ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

I mean, what's gonna happen next?! ๐Ÿคฏ This match was like a rollercoaster ride, one minute Celtic were up, the next Hearts were level. It's crazy how Stuart Findlay scored that late equalizer. I feel like watching this game was like reliving some old Celtic Hearts matches... those were the days! Remember when they used to play at Hampden Park? Good times.

And can you believe Auston Trusty got sent off?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ That was a harsh red card, but it's just one of those things that happens in football. I'm surprised Braga broke through so late in the game. It's like they were waiting for Hearts to make another mistake.

I still think Hearts have a good shot at winning the title, even with this result. And Rangers are gonna be pushing hard to catch up. This is what makes Scottish Premiership so exciting! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I'm still not convinced about Hearts' chances of winning the league ๐Ÿค”. I mean, they're four points clear, but this draw against Celtic was a bit suspicious... Auston Trusty gets sent off for a red card in the 90th minute and Braga still manages to score? It seems like a lot of bad luck going their way ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. And don't even get me started on how vulnerable they were at set pieces ๐Ÿคฏ. I need to see some concrete evidence that this is more than just a lucky break... where's the analysis from other teams or experts? ๐Ÿ“Š

I'm thinking Hearts' drama was crazy ๐Ÿคฏ! They were getting thrashed for most of it, but then Stuart Findlay comes out of nowhere and scores in the 90th minute โฐ. And can you believe Auston Trusty got sent off? That's just harsh ๐Ÿ˜ก. I mean, I get that Hearts want to win the title, but sending someone off like that doesn't help. But hey, they still managed to sneak away with a point so I guess it's all good for now ๐Ÿ‘. Rangers are still in this, though, so we'll see how that plays out. Should be interesting! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Ugh, what's wrong with this season?! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I mean, I love a good underdog story as much as the next guy, but come on Hearts! You guys are like the lovable losers of the Scottish Premiership. First, you drop points at home against Rangers, and then you go out and get a draw against Celtic? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ It's like you're giving them (and us, let's be real) whiplash with all these back-and-forth matches.

And don't even get me started on that red card from Auston Trusty! ๐Ÿšซ I mean, I know he was reckless, but a straight red? That's just harsh. It's like the refs are playing favorites or something (again). Anyway, it's not all bad news for Hearts, I guess. They're still in contention, and that late equalizer from Stuart Findlay was pure magic ๐Ÿ”ฎ.

But what really gets me is how this season seems to be a case of dรฉjร  vu. We've seen Celtic come back from behind twice already in the same fixture, and now they can't seem to put it away against Hearts? It's like the Scottish Premiership is stuck in some kind of loop or something ๐Ÿ”„. Can someone just tell me what's going on?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

lol what a game lol 4 points clear already?? Rangers gotta step it up if they wanna catch hearts rn ๐Ÿคฏ i think hearts played way better than the scoreline suggests tho, schmeichel was on fire ๐Ÿ˜… but braga's break at the end gave them a lifeline i'm loving this title chase though ๐Ÿ†

๐Ÿค” I gotta say, what a wild finish to this match! ๐ŸŽ‰ First, Celtic is cruising 1-0 up but then Hearts come back strong just before halftime. And let's be real, Stuart Findlay is the real MVP here ๐Ÿ‘ - that header in the 90th minute was pure magic! โœจ But then Auston Trusty gets sent off and suddenly it's all about Braga breaking through... ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Still, I love how Hearts managed to hold on for a point. It's been a crazy ride in the Scottish Premiership this season and I'm still on the edge of my seat! ๐Ÿ˜… What do you think, are Hearts gonna make it to the title or is Celtic gonna pip them at the post? ๐Ÿค

omg i cant believe hearts managed to get a point from that match! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ stuart findlay's header was like a dream come true ๐Ÿคฉ the fact that they were outplayed for most of it and still came away with something is just incredible. and i feel bad for celts, they had them twice coming back from behind already this season ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ braga's late winner stung though ๐Ÿ˜“ but at least hearts are still in contention for the title! ๐Ÿ†

Hearts' win might've been a fluke, I'm not sure how far their momentum will take them. Celtic's weakness at set pieces is still there and they got caught out just before the end. But let's give Hearts some credit - they've shown they can compete with the best teams in the league. Auston Trusty's red card was a major turning point, I mean it could've been game over for them. If Braga hadn't scored that winner, Celtic would've had three points and maybe even been more confident about their chances of catching up.

lol at hearts' drama ๐Ÿ˜‚, i feel like they were riding luck with auston trusty's red card ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ but claudio braga's winner was a deserved one from the brazilian ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท anyway, rangers need to step it up if they wanna catch hearts - 4 points is a big gap ๐Ÿ˜ฌ and martin o'Neill's reaction at the end was spot on ๐Ÿ‘ that title bid might not be as alive as we thought ๐Ÿ’€

so this match was super dramatic ๐Ÿ˜‚, i mean, 1-1 draw in a crucial game? that's what the title bid is all about! but seriously though, how do we know those players were even supposed to be on the pitch? auston trusty gets sent off and suddenly hearts are out of it? seems kinda fishy to me ๐Ÿค”. what's the story behind that red card? did someone actually break the rules or was it just a bad call from the ref?

omg u guys hearts just pulled off the wildest comeback ever ๐Ÿคฏ they were down but never out, like literally just when it seemed all was lost, stuart findlay popped up with a gorgeous header in the 90th minute to level the score. and lets be real, hearts' luck is just getting better - auston trusty's red card almost cost them the game, but they still managed to scrape out a draw ๐Ÿ™Œ meanwhile, rangers are looking more confident than ever, but i think hearts have got this title thing in the bag ๐Ÿ’ช

Ugh ๐Ÿ™„, can't believe they just sent off their own guy Auston Trusty for a red card and it cost them the game. I mean, come on! ๐Ÿ˜ก How hard is it to keep your cool in high pressure situations? It's like they're playing a different team out there... anyway, 1-1 result but really that late point from Stuart Findlay kept Hearts' title hopes alive ๐Ÿ™Œ. Can't let them get away with this one, Celtic's got to step up their game if they wanna catch the leaders ๐Ÿ’ช
