Hannigan/ Chamayou review – strange and beautiful musical magic

just listened to barbara hannigan & bertrand chamayou's collab on "Jumalattaret" sounds like someone poured all their emotions into this performance... Hannigan's voice is insane, can totally see why zorn chose her for this project . the way she morphs between characters is wild and chamayou's piano work is like a perfect counterpoint to her vocal range . felt like i was on a journey with them, got chills during that final track...

I'm totally blown away by Barbara Hannigan's performance with Bertrand Chamayou in "Jumalattaret" . I love how they blend Finnish mythology with modern classical music - it's like nothing I've ever heard before!

omg u guys i just listened to barbara hannigan's collab with bertrand chamayou in john zorn's "jumalattaret" and it's literally mindblown they took the entire concept of finnish mythology & modern classical music and turned it into a whole new sonic world, like whoa?! i loved how barbara could switch up her voice so much, from yelps to whispers, it was like she was having a whole emotional range conversation with bertrand's piano

I loved Barbra Hannigan's performance with Bertrand Chamayou . I mean, I've seen her perform before in my music classes, but this time it was totally different . She's like, completely immersed in each song and she changes her voice so much it's crazy ! It reminded me of when we performed "The Kalevala" in school and how powerful our voices sounded together . I felt like I was transported to a whole different world while listening to the music . And can we talk about how beautiful Bertrand Chamayou's piano playing is? It's like his hands are dancing on the keys . The way they work together is just magic . Our school choir teacher always says that music is all about expressing yourself, and I think Hannigan and Chamayou really did that with this performance .
