Greensky Bluegrass to headline 2026 Ann Arbor Folk Fest - Detroit Metro Times

Ann Arbor Folk Fest to Get Bluegrass Boost in 2026: Greensky Bluegrass Set to Headline

The 49th edition of Ann Arbor's beloved folk festival is shaping up to be a bluegrass bonanza. Kalamazoo-based band Greensky Bluegrass has been tapped as the headlining act for next year's event, bringing their signature blend of bluegrass and jam band influences to the iconic Hill Auditorium stage.

According to organizers, the decision to give Friday night over to a full-length set from the headline act was made in response to audience feedback. The new format will see Greensky Bluegrass kicking off the festival with a full concert on January 30, followed by shorter performances from a mix of artists on Saturday, January 31.

Greensky Bluegrass has built a loyal following in the jam band scene over the years, thanks in part to their five-piece lineup and versatile sound. The band's members - Dave Bruzza (guitar), Paul Hoffman (mandolin), Michael Arlen Bont (banjo), Anders Beck (dobro), and Mike Devol (upright bass) - have become synonymous with high-energy live performances.

Tickets for the Friday show go on sale at 10 a.m. on November 21, while tickets for Saturday's event are available now through The Ark's website. Prices range from $56.60 to $281.50, offering something for every budget.

The Ann Arbor Folk Fest has long been known for raising funds for local non-profit venue The Ark, and this year's event promises to be just as memorable as its predecessors.

just gonna say, bluegrass is so underrated πŸŽΈπŸ‘ the way they're giving greensky bluegrass a full set on friday night, though? that's genius πŸ’‘ gotta love when festivals listen to their fans and put them first πŸ‘

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s awesome that Greensky Bluegrass is heading the bill at Ann Arbor Folk Fest next year 🀟! Their live performances are always crazy energetic so I'm sure the crowd will love 'em πŸ’₯. Giving them a full concert on Friday night was a great idea, gonna be so sick to see what they bring to the table. The Ark’s been doing some cool stuff with their non-profit venue fundraise so it’s awesome to see the festival keeping that momentum going πŸ™Œ

πŸ€” The festival has always been good but I think this new format might just make it the best one yet! Greensky Bluegrass is a great choice as headliner - their energy is infectious 🎸. And yay for audience feedback being heard! It's about time we see some changes to keep things fresh. The price range is pretty reasonable, too. Hope they can fill Hill Auditorium next year - it'll be a wild show!

OMG 🀯 I'm so stoked about Greensky Bluegrass taking over the main stage in 2026!!! πŸŽΈπŸ‘ Did you know they've been consistently ranked #1 on the Americana/Folk charts since 2010? πŸ“ˆ They have a whopping 3.5 million followers on Instagram and their albums average a 4.8-star rating on Spotify! 🀯 Not to mention, they've played sold-out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Ryman Auditorium... this festival is gonna be HUGE!!! πŸŒ† The fact that they're bringing their full set to Friday night already has me hyped for the entire weekend! πŸ’₯ By the way, have you seen the attendance stats for previous years? I'm so stoked about the Bluegrass boost at Ann Arbor Folk Fest next year 🀩! I've been following Greensky Bluegrass for ages and they always bring that crazy energy to their shows. Having them headline the festival is a total win in my book πŸŽ‰. The new format with a full concert on Friday night sounds like an amazing way to kick off the weekend. And, of course, it's awesome to see the organizers listening to audience feedback and making changes to make the event even more epic 😊. I'm also loving the price range, so it's definitely possible for everyone to attend, regardless of budget πŸ€‘. Bring on January 2026 and let's get this bluegrass party started! 🎸

I'm not sure I get the hype around this bluegrass thing... don't get me wrong, Greensky Bluegrass is cool and all, but is it really worth dedicating a whole day to? I mean, what about the rest of us who don't live on the bluegrass scene? It's just gonna be another bunch of acoustic guitars and fiddles playing the same old songs we've heard before. And $281.50 for tickets? That's just crazy talk! πŸ€‘ I guess if you're into that sorta thing, it'll probably be a blast, but for everyone else, there are better things to do with your money... or time.

this is gonna be lit 🀩 the way they're gonna kick off with a full-length set from greensky bluegrass is insane! i mean, who doesn't love a good bluegrass jam? but what's up with the shorter performances on saturday? can't wait to see some new artists shine though πŸ’« gotta say, $56.60 seems like a pretty steep price tag for a ticket πŸ€‘

πŸ€” the fact that greensky bluegrass is headlining is a good thing, but i'm kinda sad that it's gonna take up friday night and leave saturday feeling a bit watered down 😐 tickets are pretty steep tho, 56 bucks for a day pass? might be outta budget for some folks πŸ€‘
