From Evil Empire to Super Bowl underdogs: is it OK to like the Patriots now?

The New England Patriots' Super Bowl aspirations have brought about a curious phenomenon – a shift in fan sentiment towards the once-feared Evil Empire. Once reviled by many, the Patriots are now viewed as likable underdogs, thanks largely to the emergence of new head coach Mike Vrabel.

Vrabel's unorthodox coaching style and rugged demeanor have earned him a reputation as a master strategist with a heart of gold. Players adore him, praising his ability to connect with them on a personal level. The 14-2 Patriots team this season is built around talented but scrappy players, rather than the polished superstars that defined their dynasty under Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

Yet, beneath the charm and camaraderie lies a more complex reality. Robert Kraft's ownership has remained unchanged, despite his questionable off-field activities and history of obsessive behavior to secure his place in the game's history. This lack of accountability raises questions about the team's values and whether their newfound likability is just skin-deep.

Moreover, allegations against two prominent Patriots players – Christian Barmore and Stefon Diggs – threaten to tarnish the team's reputation once again. If these incidents are swept under the rug or glossed over by the media, it will be a disservice to those affected and undermine the narrative of a redeemed franchise.

Vrabel's influence has undoubtedly humanized the Patriots, but not without acknowledging their checkered past. Love them or hate them, football teams have personalities that can captivate and repel in equal measure. As Vrabel winds back the clock on the dynasty days, it will be interesting to see how this new chapter unfolds – one marked by both likability and controversy.

omg I just watched a vid of Tom Brady's old commercials and he was so extra lol I mean I get why they're still iconic but bruh his mustache was wild 🤣 anyway back to the Patriots... I don't know about this new coach Mike Vrabel guy, sounds like a nice dude but what's up with all these allegations against some of the players? Like shouldn't they just own up to their mistakes or something? And what's with Robert Kraft's ownership situation? Is it really that shady? 🤔 I guess that's why they say football is a dirty game... 🏈💪

im not surprised about the pats shift in fan sentiment 🤷‍♂️, their coach mike vrabel has brought a new energy to the team that makes them more relatable. plus, they have some awesome players like jalen mcduffie who's been killing it this season 💥. but i do think we need to keep an eye on the allegations against some of the players 🚨, no one wants to see anyone getting into trouble off the field. and yeah, robert kraft's ownership has been a bit sketchy in the past, so i hope vrabel can help steer the team towards more positive vibes 💫.

I mean, I get why people are feeling all warm and fuzzy about the Pats right now 🤷‍♂️. Mike Vrabel's coaching style is definitely... unique, and those players seem like a solid bunch of guys. But let's not forget that Rob Kraft's still got some 'splainin' to do, ya know? 😏 Like, if he's gonna be all about family values, why hasn't he had to deal with any real consequences for his own shenanigans? 🤔

And, come on, two players get accused of stuff and suddenly everyone's all huggy-pats with the team again? 🙄 I'm not saying it's not good that they're being more humanized or whatever, but can we at least have a critical eye for this? 🤓

I'm not sure if I should be buying into all this hype around Mike Vrabel being the 'heart of gold' coach... 😐 His past as a defensive coordinator is pretty impressive, but let's not forget he was also involved in some shady recruiting practices during his time at Alabama 🤔. And what about those allegations against Barmore and Diggs? Can't just sweep them under the rug and expect everything to be okay again 💪. I'm all for a team having a likable personality, but accountability is key here. And let's not forget Robert Kraft's history of questionable behavior... 🤑 Still, Vrabel's got some great players on his squad, so it'll be interesting to see how he balances being the 'nice guy' coach with winning games 💥.

I think its kinda weird how ppl are viewing the Patriots as underdogs now 🤔. They had a dynasty with Brady and Belichick, and then they just changed coach and suddenly they're likable? 😊 It's like they wanted to shift the public's perception or somethin'. And what's up with Kraft still bein' the owner? That guy got some major skeletons in his closet 🚽. And now there's allegations against two players... it's like the Patriots are tryin' to distance themselves from their past mistakes, but at the same time they're tryin' to be likable again 😐. Its gonna be interestin' to see how this new chapter unfolds

🤔 I'm loving how the Pats' new coach, Mike Vrabel, is bringing a fresh vibe to the team 🎉! His unorthodox style and down-to-earth demeanor are definitely humanizing them in a way that's refreshing 🔥. But, gotta ask, what about the elephant in the room - Robert Kraft's shady past? 🤦‍♂️ Can't just gloss over it or expect fans to buy into the "likable underdogs" narrative 💁‍♀️. And those allegations against Barmore and Diggs? 🚨 Not exactly the kind of drama you want to sweep under the rug when trying to build a positive rep 🤷‍♂️. It's like, can they really have it both ways - being lovable and having skeletons in their closet? ⏰ Only time will tell if Vrabel's magic can pull off this redemption arc 🔮

ugh i mean come on ppl cant just move on from krafts shady past like that?? hes still got a stranglehold on that team and its not okay!! 🤯 at least now theyre likable but dont think for a sec their reputation is spotless... those allegations against barmore & diggs better get some light shed on em ASAP 💔

I'm lovin' how the Patriots are goin' from villains to likable underdogs 🤣 it's like they're tryna make up for all those Tom Brady era shenanigans, but let's not forget that Robert Kraft's still got some major skeletons in his closet 💀 what's good for the team's rep if they just sweep the allegations under the rug? gotta keep it real about their checkered past 😳

I'm low-key loving how the Patriots are suddenly everyone's favorite underdog 🤣. I mean, who doesn't love a good redemption story? But let's not get too caught up in the hype – Robert Kraft's shady past is still very much a thing, and if he gets a pass just because Vrabel's on the scene, then we need to have a serious conversation about accountability 🤔. And yeah, Christian Barmore and Stefon Diggs' drama isn't exactly what you want when you're trying to rebuild a reputation. I'm all for a little likability vs controversy, but let's not forget that both sides of the coin are still very much intact 💁‍♀️.
