‘Essential’ to ICE: French IT giant Capgemini under fire over migrant tracking role

I'm really worried about this, it's like they're saying people are just invisible numbers on a spreadsheet . All these big companies getting contracts with ICE and profiting off of people's misery is just messed up . And the fact that Capgemini's CEO says senior management wasn't aware of the contract until recently, I'm not buying it . They're trying to distance themselves but we all know how this works .

I also think it's crazy that 65% of their contracts with ICE were just awarded to them because they're so good at finding people . It's like, shouldn't we be looking out for human rights and not just making money off of deportations? I'm all for transparency and accountability, especially when big companies are profiting from the system . We need to make sure that Capgemini is held accountable for their role in this contract and that they start prioritizing people's lives over profits .

The fact that many employees have moved between CGS and ICE because of how lucrative the contracts are, just adds more fuel to the fire . It's like a never-ending cycle of profiting off of suffering and it needs to stop . I'm going to be keeping an eye on this situation and demanding answers from Capgemini .

Capgemini is so shady I mean, who knew they were making millions from helping the US deport people? It's like they're getting paid to track down migrants and turn them over to the authorities. And it's not just a few people involved, it's whole teams of employees working together with ICE. It's crazy how much money is being made off this contract - $365 million is insane

And what's even crazier is that Capgemini's CEO says they didn't know about the contract until recently, but that doesn't excuse the fact that their company has been making a killing from it for years. I don't get why they couldn't just say no to the contract or stop working with ICE in the first place.

It's also not cool how many employees have jumped between Capgemini and ICE - it just shows how deep the relationship is. And now that everyone's talking about this, I'm guessing the company is going to try to distance themselves from it all. But it's too little, too late - people are already upset, and rightfully so.

I don't know what's more disturbing, though - the fact that Capgemini is profiting off of ICE's deportation efforts or the fact that they're hiding behind a veil of "we didn't know"

Ugh, can't believe this ... Capgemini needs to get its own house in order before trying to lecture others about ethics. I mean, a $365 million contract with a company that's basically a bounty hunter firm? That's some serious moral compromise right there. And what really gets my goat is that they're just now saying senior management didn't know about it? Too little, too late .

And don't even get me started on the lack of transparency from Capgemini. They're basically saying "we'll investigate, but no promises". Give me a break. The French government's right to demand more, and I'd be surprised if this doesn't lead to some serious regulatory pushback .

It's also wild that these contracts are so lucrative, with companies earning tens of millions just for doing what amounts to tracking down people who might not even be migrants. It's like they're being paid to facilitate human rights abuses, and that's just disgusting .

I guess we'll have to wait and see how this all plays out, but I'm not holding my breath for any good outcomes .

I'm not sure what's going on here but it sounds like CGS is getting slammed from all sides . 365 million dollars for "skip tracing" services is a lot of cash, especially if companies are raking in tens of millions more just like that . I mean, who benefits from this kind of deal? It's not exactly transparency, is it?

I'm so down with Capgemini being all out with their contract with ICE lol ! I mean, who doesn't love a good "bounty hunter" firm, right? It's not like they're profiting off of people being deported or anything... Those $1 billion+ earnings are totally legit and not at all suspicious. And yeah, let's be real, if the French government is okay with this, who needs transparency and accountability, right? It's not like companies have a moral obligation to do what's right or anything... The fact that so many employees have moved between CGS and ICE just proves that they're all about that profit life, and if Capgemini terminates the contract, it'll be like a big ol' game of corporate musical chairs, but with fewer jobs.
