Eagles-Commanders Week 18 injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking healthy as they gear up for their Week 18 matchup against the Washington Commanders. Several key players will get a well-deserved rest, giving them time to recover and recharge before the playoffs.

Injured wide receiver Dallas Goedert is listed as out with a knee injury, while linebacker Nakobe Dean and edge rusher Jaelan Phillips are also out due to hamstring and ankle issues, respectively. However, linebacker Jihaad Campbell will be limited in practice after dealing with back and shoulder injuries.

The Eagles have been smart about their injury management this season, which has paid off as they've maintained a strong team health. Meanwhile, the Commanders' season is all but over, and many of their injured players are out for the year.

For the Commanders, quarterback Marcus Mariota's season is likely done due to a right hand and quad injury, while left tackle Laremy Tunsil is also unlikely to play due to an oblique injury. The team has been using Jeff Driskel and Sam Hartman at quarterback in his absence, but it's unclear if either player will be able to step up and lead the team.

In terms of notable players on IR or PUP, the Commanders have several players dealing with various injuries, including linebacker Bobby Wagner and tight end Zach Ertz. Both players suffered significant injuries this season and are unlikely to return in time for the playoffs.

The Eagles' injury report is more optimistic, with few players listed as out due to injury. Quarterback Jalen Hurts will likely get a well-deserved rest before the playoffs, while wide receiver DeVonta Smith may be considered for a starting role against the Commanders.

As the two teams prepare for their Week 18 matchup, it's clear that both the Eagles and Commanders are looking to get healthy in time for the playoffs. The question is whether they'll be able to overcome their injuries and make a deep run in the postseason.

Omg I'm so hyped for this week 18 matchup ๐Ÿคฉ! The Eagles have been doing such a great job with their injury management, it's crazy how many key players they still have on the field ๐Ÿ’ช. And the Commanders are just...meh ๐Ÿ˜. Like, can't they just get one of those QBs to step up already?! ๐Ÿ™„. But seriously, I'm low-key rooting for the Eagles because they look like they're gonna make a deep run ๐Ÿ†. The only thing that's got me worried is if DeVonta Smith gets enough rest before the game...he's been having an amazing season! ๐Ÿ’•

I'm thinkin' this Eagles team has got the right mindset, know what I mean? They're takin' care of themselves now, so when it counts most, they'll be fresh and ready to go ๐Ÿคž. The Commanders, on the other hand, are kinda done for the year ๐Ÿšซ. Their injuries just keep piling up, and it's hard to see them makin' a deep run in the playoffs. I mean, Marcus Mariota's season is basically over, and Laremy Tunsil's oblique injury is lookin' like it could keep him out for a while โฐ. The Eagles, they're just takin' it one game at a time, which is great to see ๐Ÿ‘. They've got the talent and the depth to make a deep run if they can stay healthy. Fingers crossed for 'em!

Man I'm so hyped for this one ๐Ÿ˜‚! Eagles are lookin like they're gonna come out on top, especially with Hurts gettin some rest. They've been doin a great job of takin care of those injuries, it's payin off big time ๐Ÿ™Œ. Meanwhile the Commanders are just kinda... fading away ๐Ÿ’”. I'm thinkin they won't make it past the first round, sad but true ๐Ÿ˜. Can't wait to see how this one plays out! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿค” been watching the NFL for years now, and it's crazy how injuries can affect teams in different ways. I think the Eagles have done a good job of managing their players' health, but you never know what's gonna happen on game day ๐Ÿˆ. Those Commanders are a mess right now, with so many guys out it's hard to imagine them making a deep run in the playoffs ๐Ÿ˜…. The Eagles have some tough decisions ahead, like who's gonna step up for Hurts and if Smith can shake off his own injuries. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out ๐ŸŽฅ

man this is gonna be a crazy wk 18 matchup ๐Ÿคฏ dallas goedert cant even play lol what if DeVonta Smith gets his act together now? ๐Ÿ’ช jalen hurts needs a rest but can he keep it up when it matters most? ๐Ÿค” commanders are toast, they got nothing left ๐Ÿšฎ eagles on the other hand got some injuries to deal with too ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Nakobe Dean and Jaelan Phillips are out for what feels like forever ๐Ÿ”ฅ i dont know if jeff driskel or sam hartman can lead their team to a win tho ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

omg i cant believe how bad the commanders are doing ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ their season is basically over already lol the eagles on the other hand are looking super healthy which is awesome for them ๐Ÿ’ช hopefully they can get devonta smith back to his old self and take it to the commanders ๐Ÿ‘Š

I THINK THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES ARE LOOKING SUPER STRONG RIGHT NOW, ESPECIALLY WITH QUARTERBACK JALEN HURTS GETTING A REST BEFORE THE PLAYOFFS!!! ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’ช he's been carrying that team on his back all season and it's about time he gets a break. AND I'M REALLY ROOTING FOR DEVONTA SMITH TO GET MORE PLAYTIME AGAINST THE COMMANDERS!!! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘

I feel like both teams have been pretty smart about managing their injury situations this season ๐Ÿค”, but it's gonna be tough for them to recover just in time for the playoffs โฐ. The Eagles' depth is looking solid right now, while DCs are struggling with some major injuries ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. If they can get a few of those players healthy, I think they'll have a good shot at making a deep run ๐ŸŽ‰. As for the Commanders, it's time to start thinking about next season ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ, 'cause this one is pretty much over ๐Ÿ’”. The quarterback situation is a mess, and even if Mariota and Tunsil come back, I'm not sure it'll be enough to make a difference ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.
