Did TSA Rely on Controversial “Counter-Extremism” Group to Put Names on a Secret Watchlist?

I'm not surprised about this 😒. It's like, the TSA thinks they're above scrutiny just because they're trying to keep us safe... meanwhile, they're putting innocent people on watchlists left and right 🤯. I mean, what even is the point of having a counter-extremism program if it can lead to profiling Arab and Muslim travelers? It's like, have they even considered that their methods might be flawed or biased? 🙄 And now we're hearing that George Washington University's program was used to add names to TSA watchlists... that's just crazy talk! 👎 How can we trust the system when it seems like anyone can get added to a watchlist without any real evidence or due process? It's time for some serious reform and oversight, if you ask me 💪.

omg did u no the tsa has been usin this super sketchy program 2 identify ppl 4 watchlistin?? 🤯 like they're usin some 1's research 2 label ppl as extremissts without even checkin if its real 🚫. and now sen rand paul is investigatin how this went down 🕵️‍♂️ guess we gotta ask wut kinda due process r these agencies followin when it comes 2 identifin potential threats 🤔.

stats show us that in 2020, the tsa added over 60k new names 2 its watchlist, but only 12% were actually cleared for further review 📊. thats like 88% of ppl on that list are just chillin 🙃. meanwhile, arab & muslim advocacy groups r sayin this program's methods r too broad & could lead 2 innocent ppl gettin targeted 😬.

did u no that the program's funding comes from the department of homeland security? 🤔 thats a major red flag in my book 🚨. we gotta make sure our govt agencies r followin due process & not just usin some arbitrary group's research 2 label ppl as threats 🙅‍♂️

🚨🕵️‍♂️ You know, I'm really concerned about this investigation on the TSA's watchlisting system 🤔. I mean, who wants to be flagged as a potential extremist just because they have a different name or ethnicity? It sounds super fishy to me 🐟. And what's up with this "counter-extremism" group? Is it really necessary for them to use academic research that could lead to innocent people being targeted? 🤦‍♀️ I think we need more transparency and accountability in our government agencies, especially when it comes to national security issues 📊. And can we please make sure that these watchlisting systems follow due process and don't unfairly target specific communities? 🤝

I'm getting really concerned about this watchlist thing... 🤯 It seems like they're relying on some pretty sketchy methods to identify potential extremists, which can easily lead to innocent people getting caught up in it. I mean, 10 years old is a long time for a program that's supposed to be about stopping real threats, not just random people who might say something inflammatory online.

And what really gets my attention is the funding from the Department of Homeland Security - that sounds like a serious conflict of interest to me. 🤑 If this program has a partisan bias against certain communities, it's a huge problem. I'm all for national security, but we need to make sure our government agencies are being transparent and fair about who they're targeting.

I think Sen. Paul is on the right track by asking for records from George Washington University - maybe he can uncover some dirt on this program and get it cleaned up. We need more oversight in these kinds of agencies so we don't end up with a bunch of random people getting surveilled just because someone said something they shouldn't have. 🚫

🤔 I'm kinda shocked to hear about this counter-extremism program being used by the TSA to add people to secret watchlists. It sounds like a recipe for disaster, where innocent people get caught up in the system just because they might be from an Arab or Muslim background 🙅‍♂️. We need more transparency and accountability when it comes to national security issues - all of us deserve due process and respect, not just those who are already under scrutiny 👮. I hope Sen. Paul's investigation leads to some real change and reforms within the TSA 💪

I'm really worried about this watchlist thing... I mean, think about it - innocent people could be getting targeted just because they're part of an "extremist" group or have ties to their community 🤯. It's not right. We need to make sure our government agencies are following due process and that there's some checks in place to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

I've seen so many stories about people being unfairly targeted by the TSA, just because they're wearing a certain type of clothing or have a name that sounds "Middle Eastern" 😕. It's just not fair. We need to hold our government accountable for these kinds of practices and make sure that we're treating everyone equally.

I'm glad Sen. Rand Paul is looking into this - someone needs to shine a light on what's going on in these agencies 🏮. And it's even more disturbing when you think about the fact that some of this research comes from George Washington University... I mean, isn't academia supposed to be about learning and growth, not surveillance and profiling? 🤷‍♀️
