
So, I gotta say, this is a big deal for Democrats, no doubt about it

. Abigail Spanberger's win as VA's first female governor is historic and all that jazz

. But, to be real, I'm still a bit skeptical about her chances of actually governing without getting too partisan

. Her focus on pragmatism over partisanship sounds great on paper, but we've seen plenty of politicians make promises they can't keep before

.
And let's not forget, this is just one election in a sea of others

. Trump's endorsement didn't exactly hurt Earle-Sears' chances, and I'm sure there are plenty of other factors that could influence the outcome next year

. Still, it's definitely a positive sign for Democrats, and maybe β just maybe β they'll be able to make some real progress on those issues they've been talking about
