"Decision is final": Nobel Institute says Machado "cannot" transfer Peace Prize to Trump

Norway's Nobel Institute Catches Machado in Lie: Prize Cannot Be Transferred to Trump

In a move that has left many scratching their heads, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado recently proposed sharing her prestigious Nobel Peace Prize with none other than President Donald Trump. The unexpected offer had sparked widespread reaction from the far-right circles surrounding Trump, with some going so far as to claim that Trump has done more in decades to bring about peace to the world.

However, a statement released by the Norwegian Nobel Institute on Friday put an end to any hope Machado might have had of transferring her prize. Citing its longstanding rules, the institute stated unequivocally that once a Nobel Prize is announced, it "cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred to others." The decision, the institute said, was final and would stand for all time.

The institute's stance on this matter seems clear and unambiguous. Yet, despite this, many in Trump's inner circle have expressed outrage over Machado's move, with some accusing the Nobel Institute of putting politics over peace. In reality, Trump himself appeared to be motivated by a more self-serving reason - namely that he believed Machado had misstepped by accepting the award without first offering it to him.

It is interesting to note that Trump has since distanced himself from Machado in light of her initial decision to accept the Nobel Peace Prize. He claimed that she was "not respected" by the Venezuelan people, a claim that many have called out as unfounded and hypocritical. Moreover, White House insiders have revealed that Trump's true motivation for Machado's exclusion was not based on any perceived slight towards her, but rather on his own personal ambition.

In essence, Trump appears to have manipulated Machado into making a choice that ultimately benefited him, while downplaying the significance of the Nobel Peace Prize itself. It is a sobering reminder of the lengths to which some individuals will go in pursuit of power and recognition - regardless of whether it is justified or not.

Machado's attempt at a PR stunt was kinda cute 😂... like trying to pass off a decent Instagram filter as your own work. The whole thing just felt like a desperate attempt to get attention & praise, but ultimately ended up backfiring 🤦‍♀️. And let's be real, if Trump is really that invested in Machado's "honor", maybe he should focus on his own track record of promoting peace 🙄... just saying 👀.

I gotta say, this whole thing with Machado and Trump's reaction has got me thinking 🤔... Like, seriously though, if you're gonna give someone a Nobel Peace Prize, what's the point of even having rules against sharing it? It's just more drama, you know? And on the other hand, I get why Machado wanted to share it - she's been doing some good work in Venezuela, and it would've been awesome to have Trump along for the ride 🤝. But now that the Nobel Institute has put their foot down, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out 💔. It's like, what even is the point of a peace prize if you're just gonna use it to stir up drama? 🙄

I'm low-key surprised this didn't happen sooner 🤯. Machado seemed pretty confident that Trump would be her BFF if she just shared the prize with him, but I guess she didn't do her homework. Meanwhile, Trump's trying to spin his own motivations as selfless, but let's be real, he was always looking out for himself 💁‍♂️. It's wild how easily people like Machado can get caught up in the ego-trip that is Trump's world 🌎. The Nobel Institute did the right thing by sticking to their rules, but this whole ordeal just goes to show that when it comes down to it, politics > peace 👑.

omg this is wild 🤯 i remember when trump was all about "making america great again" and now he's trying to steal other ppl's prizes? 🙄 what happened to his ego, tho? 😂 i mean machado did kinda come out of nowhere with that share-the-prize idea, but still, the nobel institute should just stick to its rules 🤔 it's not like trump is exactly known for being transparent about anything 🤑

man... this machado thingy is wild 🤯 i mean, what even is trump's game here? seems like he just wanted the prize for himself all along 😒 and now machado's outta luck. its funny how people can spin a story to fit their own agenda. i dont think anyone seriously thinks trump's done more for peace than machado has... that would be some pretty weak tea 🍵 anyway, glad the nobel institute stuck to the rules and didnt give in to politics. sometimes you just gotta let the facts speak for themselves 💯

I cant even believe what's going on with Machado and Trump 🤯. Like seriously, who tries to share a Nobel Peace Prize? Its such a huge deal for her to get one in the first place! And now hes claiming she did it all for him? Give me a break 💁‍♀️. The institute made a clear rule and stuck to it, but still people are talking like its some kinda conspiracy. Machado was trying to make peace happen for real, not just so Trump can feel important 🙄. And what's with the backpedaling from Trump now? Trying to play the victim card when really he's just trying to save face 🤷‍♂️. Its all so messed up and sad 😔.
