Wow , I mean, can you believe they're going to bring that old house back to life after all these years? It's wild to think about how George Washington's troops just camped there without even making it a hospital lol . The idea of doing a military terrain analysis to figure out how the land was used is so cool! They should totally put up some interactive exhibits or something, that would be awesome . I'm really hyped for the events they're planning around Washington's birthday and the Fourth of July too .
man, i think its cool that they're doing this facelift for the Thompson-Neely House . it's crazy to think about all the history that's happened there since 1740. like, george washington himself camped out there with his troops in 1776 . and now they're gonna get a whole new look while still trying to preserve what made it so special 250 years ago. i'm just hoping they can figure out more about how the war affected the people living nearby during that time . and hey, getting to learn about our history through these kinds of renovations is pretty awesome
This is what we're doing with our tax dollars? Restore an old house that was used by Washington's troops and people think it's gonna give 'em insight into how the war affected civilians... like they didn't already know that much from books . Don't get me wrong, I'm glad someone's taking care of this piece of history, but 250 grand is a lot of cash for some plaster and paint updates .
I think it's awesome that the Thompson-Neely House is getting a major facelift for its 250th anniversary! I mean, can you imagine being able to walk in those same rooms where George Washington and his troops camped? It's like stepping into American history, you know? The fact that they're doing military terrain analysis and archaeological searches to understand how the land was used back then is really cool too. I'm sure it'll be super informative for visitors and give them a new appreciation for what went down during that time period. Plus, who doesn't love a good restoration project? It's always great to see our historical sites getting the care they need so we can keep learning from them!
omg, I'm totes stoked about this!!! they're giving that old house a major facelift and I'm all for it! it's so cool that they're gonna restore the plaster and paint and update the electrical system... my grandma used to have to deal with those kinds of things when she was growing up in her own old house. anywayz, I love how they're also doin' an archeological search to figure out what life was like for people 250 yrs ago... it's gonna be soooo interesting! can't wait to see the finished project and all the events they'll have around Washinton's birthday
Just think about it , our ancestors' history is literally beneath our feet and we're still discovering new things about it . The Thompson-Neely House renovation is awesome, but also kinda crazy that they have to fix everything after 250 years . It's wild how much our country has changed since 1776 . Can't wait to see the finished result and learn more about what life was like back then
