I'm shocked that Michael Edwards is leaving after 13 years! I remember when he first took over, Downtown Chicago was basically a ghost town . But he worked tirelessly to bring life back to the area and it's amazing to see how far we've come . I mean, sure, there are still some issues like high retail vacancies and safety concerns, but weekend traffic is through the roof! And let's be real, who doesn't love State Street on a Saturday night? The fact that Edwards' initiatives are being left behind is a bit of a bummer, but fingers crossed his successor will continue the good work . Maybe we'll see some even bigger changes in the future? Only time will tell!
Man... this is crazy news! Edwards stepping down after 13 years? That's a big deal . I mean, he was instrumental in trying to revive Downtown Chicago, but it's clear that there are still some major challenges to overcome . The high office vacancies and retail struggles are no joke, but at the same time, weekend traffic is way up . Maybe they just need a fresh perspective now? April can't come soon enough . And let's be real, tourism in the U.S. took a hit last year... not sure if that's gonna get fixed anytime soon . Edwards may be leaving, but his legacy is still here and will hopefully help guide the alliance forward
omg like chicago downtown is still tryna bounce back after covid lol 13 yrs is a big deal tho and edwards was def the right person to lead that charge but now he's out & it's like the whole city is wondering what's next for the loop weekend traffic is on the rise but retail & office spaces are still super empty rn state street is basically a shadow of its former self anyway, fingers crossed for edwards' successor to bring some real change
