A Chicago-area man has been taken into custody in connection with the brutal murder of his ex-wife and her husband in Ohio. Michael David McKee, 39, is now facing two counts of murder as authorities close in on him.

The victims, Monique Tepe, 39, and Spencer Tepe, 37, were found shot to death at their home in Columbus, Ohio, on December 30th. Their two young children were miraculously unharmed and are safe with relatives. The police have revealed little about the motive behind the heinous crimes, but investigators say they are working tirelessly to unravel the web of evidence.

McKee, who is Monique Tepe's ex-husband, was charged with murder in connection with their deaths. His arrest was facilitated by a warrant issued by Franklin County (Ohio) Municipal Court on Saturday. Winnebago County Sheriff's Office records show that he was booked into jail for an out-of-state hold shortly before noon Saturday.

McKee is now set to appear in court in Winnebago County, which will likely serve as the extradition hearing to begin proceedings against him in Ohio. The hospital where McKee works as a surgeon, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, has announced that it is cooperating with authorities, but has chosen not to comment further.

According to online records, McKee holds active medical licenses in Illinois and California and an expired license in Nevada. He graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2014. McKee and Monique Tepe were married in 2015 and divorced in 2017 in Columbus, according to court records that list a Virginia address for him at the time of their divorce.

Columbus homicide detectives identified McKee as a suspect through neighborhood video surveillance footage, which led them to his car. Police found the vehicle in Rockford and discovered evidence that linked it to McKee before and after the killings, according to reports.
 
😕 this is just so senseless... a life lost like that and two little ones left to pick up the pieces ... I'm still trying to process how someone can do something so heinous to their ex-wife and her husband... 🤯 it's like they were living next door to me or my family, in Illinois. The thought of working alongside McKee as a surgeon at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center is just shocking... 😷 I hope the court hearing goes smoothly and justice is served ASAP 👮‍♂️
 
😔 Just read about this awful news 🤕. You know what's crazy? The fact that Monique and Spencer were just trying to start over with their kids, and then... tragedy strikes 💔. Their little ones are lucky to be alive 🙏. I'm thinking of the kids right now - it must be so scary for them to have lost their parents like this 😨.

It's also wild that McKee was a surgeon 🤕, someone who's supposed to heal people, and he ends up hurting two innocent lives instead. You'd think you'd know better when you're in a position of care like that 💔. But I guess sometimes life takes us down paths we don't expect 🌪️.

The fact that the police were able to catch him thanks to some footage from neighbors is actually kinda awesome 🎉. Maybe justice will be served and those kids can finally find peace ❤️. Fingers crossed! 🤞
 
man this is crazy... like how can someone just go out of control like that? 🤯 they were just parents with kids, and now their whole life is over in an instant... and what really gets me is that his own hospital is cooperating with the cops but won't say anything about him... it's like he had a facade going on, pretending to be this perfect doctor... meanwhile, behind closed doors he was a monster 😔 anyway, I guess justice will hopefully take its course in Ohio... hope those young kids are okay, that's what matters most 🙏
 
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. A doctor who's supposed to save lives is now accused of taking two innocent lives? 🤯 It just doesn't add up. I mean, what's going on with our medical licensing systems? How could someone get a license in Illinois and California but not in Ohio? And what about the fact that he was working at a hospital that's cooperating with authorities... shouldn't they have seen something? 🚨 This whole thing just feels like a recipe for disaster.

I'm so glad we have people like Michael David McKee out there, you know, just living their best lives, being total saints to their ex-wife's family... *sigh* 🙄 Meanwhile, I'm sure it's super convenient for him that his ex-wife and her husband happened to be in the right place at the wrong time. Just another day in paradise where people can just get shot in the own home without any warning signs or anything. And yay for the two kids who got to experience trauma beyond their years! I mean, what's a family vacation anyway, right? 🤷‍♀️ At least they're safe now... and getting therapy and stuff. The medical community is totally on top of things too, just so happens that one of his colleagues at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center decided to cooperate with authorities, but hey, can't blame them for wanting to get out of this whole messy situation, right? 🤦‍♀️
 
OMG 🤯 just heard about this crazy murder case in Ohio 😱 and I'm still trying to process it... like what even is going on with this guy? 😲 He's a surgeon by day and a psycho killer by night? 🚑💀 how does that even work? and the fact that he was able to get away with being a suspect for so long is just wild 🤪, I mean I'm all for due process and all but come on, you're a cop and a surgeon, can't you do better than this? 😅 and what's up with his medical licenses, like isn't that supposed to be some kind of vetting process or something? 🙄

Man, this is just horrific... 😱 I can only imagine how traumatized those kids must be, losing their parents like that... 🤕 It's crazy to think that someone who was supposed to be a doctor could do something so heinous... 🤷‍♂️ The fact that he was able to evade justice for so long is just mind-boggling... 👮‍♂️ I mean, how do you go from being a surgeon to committing such a violent crime? It's like two completely different worlds... 🌎 And the fact that his work license are still active in multiple states... that's just insane... 🤯 The police did a great job tracking him down and gathering evidence... but I hope they can bring some justice to those victims and their families... ❤️

So McKee's got an active medical license in Illinois, that's wild 🤔. I mean, what kind of surgeon is capable of committing such heinous crimes while still practicing medicine? And he's just been working at this hospital since... like 2014? That's a pretty short stint for someone with his skills.

I'm also super curious about the neighborhood video surveillance footage that led detectives to McKee 📹. Was it just one or two cameras that caught something suspicious? Did anyone see anything weird around the time of the killings?

And what about those two young kids, man? They're lucky to be alive, but still. It's like... how do you even process something like this as a parent? 🤕

🤦‍♂️ What a lovely new year's present – a murder mystery wrapped in a web of deceit and a healthy dose of 'ex-husband-gone-bad' 🎁. I mean, who doesn't love a good game of cat and mouse, especially when it involves two poor souls whose only crime was being married to this guy? 💔 And the cherry on top – he's a surgeon, so not only did he take out his ex-wife and her husband, but he probably also knows how to stitch up a patient with ease... or should I say, stab them in the back? 🤕. Seriously though, how do you even go from being a medical professional to becoming a cold-blooded killer? Did someone finally make him realize that his 'doctors' orders' skills didn't translate so well to real life? 🚑💀

Man, this is wild 🤯! Like, I'm shaking my head thinking about what happened to those poor people... and their kiddos too 😩! You feel me? Someone just loses control like that? It's crazy how a warrant was issued and his employer knew something was up but chose not to say anything. That's some sketchy stuff 🕵️‍♂️. And now, with this guy having a history of violence (although I don't know all the details), it's like he just lost control completely. Like, what drives someone to do something so terrible? 🤯 It's not even about the money or the revenge... it was just pure hatred and anger.

🙄 just when you think you've seen the most messed up stuff on the news, this guy's arrest is like a whole other level of crazy 🤯 I mean, he's a surgeon at a hospital in Rockford? how do they not see red flags with someone who's basically a domestic abuser being allowed to practice medicine? it's just wild that his ex-wife and her husband were even able to escape with their lives... those kids are lucky to have living parents 🙏 the whole thing is just so sad and tragic
