Cheltenham tips: Imperial Saint fancied to outrun his odds in December Gold Cup

Cheltenham-bound contenders are drawing attention from experts ahead of Saturday's December Gold Cup Handicap Chase. Vincenzo, who impressed with a second-place finish to Booster Bob in the Greatwood Handicap Chase, now heads the market alongside Hoe Joly Smoke.

The pair's performances have generated significant interest among betting enthusiasts, with many predicting that they will dominate the field at Prestbury Park. However, some pundits believe that Imperial Saint could offer value at 12/1, given his recent form and the fact that he was only beaten by a substantial margin in the Old Roan Chase.

Sam Boswell notes that while Vincenzo's Paddy Power run looks promising, it remains to be seen whether he can replicate that success over two miles and four furlongs. He also cautions against backing Hoe Joly Smoke too short, as his jumping issues may resurface in the handicap chase.

Declan Rix is more forthcoming about Imperial Saint's chances, citing a "rock-solid" bet at 12/1 despite the horse's recent disappointing run. The jockey believes that Imperial Saint will run much better than expected and could be an each-way player.

Meanwhile, Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch are also well-represented in the field, with Martator shaping up as a potential contender. However, doubts have been raised about Kim Roque's ability to compete, leaving his backers to weigh their options carefully at 11/2.

Ultimately, Saturday's December Gold Cup Handicap Chase is expected to be a closely contested event, with several horses capable of landing the top prize.

omg can u imagine Imperial Saint pulling off that 12-1 upset? ๐Ÿคฏ Declan Rix must've really seen something in the horse lol. on the other hand, I'm low-key skeptical about Hoe Joly Smoke's chances... jumping issues are no joke, you know? ๐Ÿด as for Vincenzo and Booster Bob, they both looked solid in their previous races, but can they translate that form to a handicap chase? ๐Ÿค” it's gonna be a tough one to call on Saturday! ๐Ÿ’ธ

Imperial Saint's price looks too good to pass up ๐Ÿค‘ I mean, he's been beaten by some decent fields and Vincenzo is doing okay but not out of this world... 12/1 seems like a steal, don't you think? ๐Ÿ‘€ Maybe Declan Rix knows something we don't?

I'm really looking forward to watching this horse racing event on Saturday ๐Ÿด๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ! It seems like Vincenzo and Hoe Joly Smoke are the ones to beat, but I'm also keeping an eye on Imperial Saint - 12/1 is a great value if he can pull off some magic! ๐Ÿค‘ The only thing that's got me a bit worried is how well they'll do over two miles and four furlongs... it's a lot longer than the other courses we've seen them run on. Still, I love a good underdog story and Imperial Saint has got all the ingredients to be a dark horse ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ”ฎ. And Martator looks like a solid contender too! It should be an epic finish at Prestbury Park ๐Ÿ’ช

omg i'm literally so excited for saturday ๐Ÿคฉ but like, can we talk about how ugly the layout of this handicap chase is? ๐Ÿ™„ it's all over the place... first you got your top 2 contenders, vincenzo and hoe joly smoke, at the top of the market, then you got imperial saint sneaking in at 12/1 like "hey guys, i'm gonna crush it" ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

and don't even get me started on the each-way player ๐Ÿ“ˆ declan rix says imperial saint is gonna run way better than expected, but like what's the format for that? can we have a clear section for "each-way bets"? ๐Ÿค” and venetia williams and charlie deutsch are getting some love, but martator is being kinda shady at 11/2... i need more info on kimmie roque before i even consider betting ๐Ÿ’ญ

I think Imperial Saint has some real potential ๐Ÿค”. I mean, he was only beaten by a mile in the Old Roan and that's a big margin. And Rix is saying he'll run much better than expected, so maybe we're looking at an upset ๐Ÿ†. Of course, Vincenzo is still the favourite but let's not count out Imperial Saint just yet ๐Ÿ‘Š. I'm keeping an eye on him, especially with that 12/1 odds, seems like a good value bet to me ๐Ÿ’ธ

๐Ÿ‡๏ธ๐Ÿค” I'm loving the hype around Vincenzo and Hoe Joly Smoke right now! They're definitely gonna give it their all on Saturday ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช But let's not forget about Imperial Saint - that 12/1 odds are looking pretty tempting to me ๐Ÿค‘. Plus, Declan Rix's confidence in the horse is making me wanna take a chance ๐Ÿ˜Š. And can we talk about Martator for a sec? Venetia Williams is always on point with her horses ๐Ÿ™Œ! But yeah, gotta keep an eye on Kim Roque - you never know what's gonna happen when he jumps into the fray ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I'm not sure if people are reading too much into Vincenzo's second-place finish in the Greatwood Handicap Chase... 12 months ago he was a long shot and still managed to come third! ๐Ÿค” Hoe Joly Smoke, on the other hand, has been struggling with his jumping. I wouldn't say it's time to bet big on him just yet.

As for Imperial Saint, yeah, he did have a decent run in the Old Roan Chase... but was beaten by a significant margin, which isn't exactly confidence-inspiring. Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch are definitely worth keeping an eye on, especially Martator. But 11/2 for Kim Roque? That's a big ask. I'm not sure if his backers are being realistic about his chances. ๐Ÿคž

I gotta say, I'm loving the hype around Imperial Saint! ๐Ÿคฏ He's been flying under the radar and I think he's got a solid shot at taking this thing down. The jockey's confidence is infectious and I trust Declan Rix's expertise. 12/1 for an each-way play sounds like a steal to me, especially if Vincenzo and Hoe Joly Smoke are both up there at the front of the pack. It's gonna be a tough one to call but I'm all in on Imperial Saint! ๐Ÿ†

omg I just tried the new vegan pizza place downtown and it's literally life changing ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ‘Œ their cauliflower crust is so good, I don't even miss the cheese anymore lol anyway back to horse racing... I mean I'm not a huge fan but my friend is and she always gets me hyped for these big events. speaking of which have you tried those new energy drinks that are supposed to give you a boost? I was thinking of trying one out before the holiday season ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ’จ

๐Ÿ‡๏ธ You know what really gets my goat? The lack of transparency in betting odds! I mean, Vincenzo and Hoe Joly Smoke are basically guaranteed wins just because they're favorites... ๐Ÿ˜’ where's the excitement in that? And don't even get me started on Imperial Saint, being a long shot at 12/1 but somehow Declan Rix thinks he's got a "rock-solid" bet going on... ๐Ÿค” I'm all for giving the underdog a chance, but can we trust these pundits to be objective?

And have you noticed how the field is stacked with big-name jockeys and trainers? It's like they're trying to sway the outcome just by virtue of who's riding and who's in charge... ๐Ÿ™„ Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch are doing a great job, but what about the smaller outfits? Can't they get some love too?

I swear, this whole racing thing is just a fancy soap opera for the wealthy... ๐Ÿค‘ Meanwhile, we're left with our opinions and predictions. Who's gonna call it on Saturday? The market or our own two eyes? ๐Ÿค”

I'm loving how these experts are analyzing every angle for this race ๐Ÿค”. Vincenzo and Hoe Joly Smoke are definitely the ones to beat right now, but I think Imperial Saint has a great shot at 12/1 ๐Ÿค‘. Declan Rix seems to have done his research and is confident in Imperial Saint's abilities ๐Ÿ’ก.

I also love that Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch have Martator as a potential contender โ€“ he's definitely one to watch ๐Ÿ‘€. And I agree, Kim Roque's backers need to be careful with their bets at 11/2 ๐Ÿคž.

What I find most exciting about this race is the unpredictability of it all ๐ŸŽ‰. Anything can happen on the day, and I think that's what makes it so thrilling for us racing fans ๐Ÿ˜„. Bring it on! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿค” I don't know if ppl r giving enough credit 2 Imperial Saint tho ๐Ÿด He's been having a tough time lately but his recent performances r still pretty impressive! ๐Ÿšจ Declan Rix seems like he knows what he's talking about btw ๐Ÿ™Œ Maybe it's worth taking a chance on him at 12/1? ๐Ÿค‘

I'm thinking of taking my kid to watch this horse racing event but I'm not sure if it's suitable for them... two miles and four furlongs is a long way ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ˜ฌ... and all those horses jumping around might be too intense for little ones... plus, some of these horses are being tipped as favorites so it'll probably be a competitive field... what do you think? Should I prepare my kid for a potentially nail-biting finish or just take them to a nice park instead ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ˜Š
