I'm so glad to see some life coming back into those old schools in Chicago... finally! I mean, who doesn't love a good facelift, right? 🤣 It's about time they did something with all those abandoned buildings, especially since the kids have been stuck with nothing but old textbooks and outdated facilities for years. Like, what even is the point of having a sports program if you can't afford decent equipment or fields?

I'm all for innovation and community engagement, though! Breakaway Community Development seems like a great example of people making a difference in their neighborhood. Those kids are going to have some serious fun learning about photography and refereeing... I mean, who knows, maybe they'll even become sports commentators or something? 📺🏈

The estimated $12.5 million price tag is still a lot, but hey, at least someone's footing the bill. Maybe the city council will finally wake up and realize that investing in education isn't just about throwing money at problems... sometimes it actually works! 💸

📊 Did you know that 1 in 5 schools in Chicago are considered "distressed" and need renovation? 🤯 The CPS has been working hard to address this issue, and projects like Breakaway Community Development's new training center for young athletes is a great step forward! 💪

Here are some stats to put this into perspective:

* The average cost of renovating a school in Chicago is around $150 million ( Source: CPS 2022-2023 budget)
* 60% of schools in Chicago have been closed or converted due to declining enrollment since 2013 (Source: Chicago Public Schools, 2020 data)
* Every dollar invested in education returns an average of $1.45 in economic growth per dollar spent (Source: Brookings Institution, 2022)

This project is not only a great investment in the community, but it's also a smart business decision! 📈 With the estimated cost of $12.5 million and $2.25 million already secured, Breakaway Community Development is on track to make a real impact.

Let's keep pushing for more progress and innovation in education! 🚀 What do you think about this project? Should we be investing more in community development initiatives like this? 💬

I'm so stoked to see Chicago taking steps towards renovating their schools 🤩! It's amazing that they're working to bring back some of those abandoned buildings and turn them into community centers and affordable housing 🏠💪. I mean, who doesn't love the idea of kids having access to modern sports facilities and programs like photography and refereeing? 😎

It's great to see organizations like Breakaway Community Development taking the lead on this project. They're not just about training young athletes, but also about giving them a chance to develop valuable life skills 📚. And it's awesome that they've already secured $2.25 million of funding 💸.

Of course, there's still a long way to go in terms of fixing up the city's schools, but this is definitely a step in the right direction 🚶‍♂️. Chicago's always on the move, and I'm excited to see what other initiatives come out of the city's education department 💡. Bring it on! 🎉

I gotta say, this is a big deal for the community latina in Chicago 🙌. I mean, it's about time they got some new life into those old buildings. The fact that Breakaway Community Development was able to secure funding and make it happen is awesome 😊. But let's be real, $12.5 million is still a pretty penny 💸. I hope they're planning on using some of that money to upgrade the existing facilities too, not just build new ones.

And I love that they're offering programs for kids to learn stuff like sports commentary and photography 📸🏈. That's exactly what these young folks need to get ahead in life. But we should also be keeping an eye on how this project is going to affect the neighborhood in the long run. You know, making sure it's not just a Band-Aid solution but actually addresses some of the systemic issues they're trying to tackle 🤔.

Anyway, kudos to Breakaway and the CPS for taking action. It's about time we started investing in our kids' futures. Now let's see if they can make good on their promises 🤞.

🤩 I'm so stoked about this news! It's amazing to see Chicago taking steps to revamp their schools and make them more accessible to the community. This project is a game-changer for young athletes in Austin - they're gonna have access to top-notch facilities and training programs that'll help them develop their skills and reach their full potential.

I love how Breakaway Community Development is leading this initiative, providing opportunities for kids to learn essential life skills like sports commentary, photography, and refereeing. It's not just about the physical activity, it's about giving them a sense of purpose and direction.

The fact that two abandoned buildings are being transformed into affordable housing and community centers is a huge win for the city. It shows that there are people working behind the scenes to make a positive impact on their community. 💪

just had to share this news about the chicago schools renovation lol, it's awesome that they're making progress on renovating those old buildings 🤩. the fact that breakaway community development is getting a new home for their sports training sessions is amazing for the kids in the austin neighborhood 🏋️‍♀️. $12.5 million might seem like a lot, but if it's going to make a real difference in the lives of those young athletes, i'm all for it 💸. and to think that this project is just one part of the bigger plan to renovate the schools... fingers crossed it all works out and those kids have access to the resources they need 🤞.

😊 So I think this is a great news for the community Latina in Chicago. The CPS decision to sell 14 abandoned properties and turn them into community centers and affordable housing is a huge step forward. It's amazing to see how organizations like Breakaway Community Development are taking advantage of these opportunities to create positive change.

The fact that they're able to secure funding for this project, with $2.25 million already covered, is a big plus. And I love the idea of offering spaces where kids can learn skills like sports commentary, photography and refereeing - it's so cool! 👏 The sport can be such a powerful tool for young people, but often they don't have access to resources or facilities.

I think this project is just one part of the bigger effort to revamp public schools in Chicago. It's great to see the district taking steps to address the challenges and provide opportunities for its youth. 💪 The city will keep growing and evolving, but with projects like this, I'm hopeful that young people will have the tools they need to succeed. 🤞

🤔 So I was reading this article about Chicago and its schools and I'm like, what's up with the budget for these renovations? Is it really $12.5 millones? That sounds crazy expensive for just one project. And then I read that they've already gotten $2.25 million in funding, but where did that money come from? 🤑

And also, have you guys ever been to a sports game in Chicago? The energy is so electric! I'm a big sports fan and I wish there were more opportunities for kids to play and learn about sports. That's what this project by Breakaway Community Development sounds like - it's amazing that they're providing spaces for kids to learn about sports and other skills.

I don't know much about Chicago, but it seems like the city is always trying to improve its schools and communities. I hope this project is a step in the right direction. What do you guys think? Should more cities be focusing on renovating their schools and providing resources for kids? 🤗

I'm loving the vibes of this new project in Chicago! 🙌 They're finally doing something about those abandoned schools and turning them into community hubs that can provide opportunities for young people. I mean, it's not just about the sports, but about giving kids access to arts, education, and life skills that can help them succeed.

The fact that Breakaway Community Development is leading this project is awesome 🤩, they're really committed to making a difference in their community. And with $2.25 million already secured, it's looking like this project is going to be a reality soon!

It's great to see the city taking steps towards renovating its schools and providing more resources for its young people. It's not an easy task, but Chicago's definitely on the right track 🚀. And who knows, maybe one day we'll see even more innovative projects like this popping up around town!

🤔 I'm thinking, like back in the day when I was a kid and my neighborhood had a community center that offered sports programs for underprivileged kids... it was a game-changer, you know? And now, seeing this happening in Chicago with Breakaway Community Development is like, woah! 💥 They're bringing life to these abandoned buildings and giving kids access to facilities they never thought they'd have. It's all about providing opportunities, just like how the old community center used to do. 🏋️‍♀️ The fact that the CPS is finally taking action and investing in these projects is a step in the right direction. Let's hope it doesn't take too long for other schools to follow suit. Fingers crossed! 👍

🤣 I mean, who wouldn't want to go back to school in an old abandoned building? Sounds like a blast... not! But seriously, $12.5 millones is a lot of cash for a community center and some sports classes. I guess it's better than nothing. The fact that Breakaway Community Development is doing this is awesome, though. They're giving the kids a chance to learn new skills and have some fun. It's like a win-win situation... except maybe the kids who don't get in. But hey, at least they'll be busy learning how to arbitrate sports disputes 🤣. On a more serious note, it's great that Chicago is working on renovating its schools. The city is always growing and changing, so I hope this project is just one of many steps towards making education better for everyone. Fingers crossed! 🤞

🤔 I think this is a huge win for the community! Those abandoned buildings have been sitting there for ages and now they're finally getting some love. It's amazing that Breakaway Community Development has snagged one of them to host their training sessions - those kids are going to kill it on the soccer field with all that equipment and coaching. 💪 And $2.25 million covered already? That's a sweet deal! 🤑 I just hope the rest of the project stays on track and doesn't get derailed like some other Chicago initiatives have in the past. Fingers crossed for this one, though - it could make all the difference for those young athletes. ⚽
