I'm not sure I agree with all these tax changes
. On one hand, it's fair that those who can afford a bigger house will chip in a bit more to help fund social care costs
. But on the other hand, I think increasing income tax for low and modest incomes is just going to push them further into debt
. And what about all the pensioners like George and Joan? They've worked hard their whole lives, they shouldn't have to worry about more taxes taking away from their state pension
.
I do like the idea of the fuel duty cut though - that's something we can all get behind
! But I wish there was a bit more thought given to how these changes will affect people who are just trying to make ends meet. Maybe some kind of tax credits or benefits to help offset the increases? That would be a step in the right direction
