Brahim Díaz fires winner as Afcon hosts Morocco survive scare against Tanzania

Morocco's Brahim Diaz Scores Winner in Thrilling Afcon Victory Over Tanzania

A nervy 1-0 win for Morocco over Tanzania has booked the hosts' place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Real Madrid winger Brahim Diaz scored his fourth goal for the team to secure a vital three points, sending Morocco into the last eight.

Morocco dominated possession but were made to work by a determined Tanzania side, who had opportunities to cause an upset. Simon Msuva and Feisal Salum both spurned gilt-edged chances for the east Africans, while Walid Regragui's team were fortunate that they didn't concede more goals in a game where not everything went their way.

Despite being far from vintage, Morocco managed to secure their qualification to the next round thanks to Diaz's fine strike on 64 minutes. The Real Madrid winger worked his way to the byline before firing into the goal from a tight angle, leaving Tanzania goalkeeper Aimsley Dawda with no chance.

Diaz, who is now the tournament's top scorer, praised his team for their effort, saying that "the competition is hotting up and we faced our toughest opponent in this Tanzania team." He added that although not everything worked out as planned, they managed to secure their qualification and would now focus on being fully prepared for the quarter-finals.

Morocco will face Cameroon in the quarter-finals after they edged past South Africa 2-1. Goals from Junior Tchamadeu and Christian Kofane sealed a comfortable victory for the Indomitable Lions, although South Africa pulled one back through Evidence Makgopa with two minutes to play.

man I'm loving this afcon tournament so far 🤩! Morocco's win over Tanzania was crazy intense, and Brahim Diaz is on fire 💥! That goal of his in the 64th minute was pure magic, what a finish from him! 😍 And yeah, it's not like they played at their best, but you can't deny the importance of that win. They're in the quarter-finals now, which is huge for them. I'm curious to see how they'll match up against Cameroon next - that's gonna be a tough one 🤔.

Ugh, what's up with these VAR calls in Afcon? I mean, I get that it's hard to keep an eye on 90 min of intense football, but come on! Diaz scores a legit goal, and then they're like "nope, not really sure about this one". Meanwhile, Tanzania had some super clear chances go to waste, and the ref is just... waving them through. Anyway, congrats to Morocco for making it to the quarter-finals - they played a solid game, even if it wasn't perfect! 🙌🏻💪

Just saw this Morroccan win over Tanzania in Afcon 🏆😊! Brahim Diaz is on fire right now, 4 goals and counting 💥🔥 I was a bit worried when Tanzania started creating some chances but Morocco's defense held strong 👍. That goal from Diaz though? Pure magic ✨. He's been instrumental for his team so far and I'm loving the confidence he exudes on the pitch 😎. Quarter-finals are within reach now, fingers crossed they can take it to the next level 💪!

Omg, Morocco finally won something 🙄! I mean, it's not like they were completely rubbish or anything 😂. Brahim Diaz is basically the real MVP now 💪. Four goals and counting... he's on fire 🔥. And let's be real, Tanzania was like "we're gonna take down Morocco" but nope 😂. They had some solid chances too tho 🤔. I'm just glad they didn't concede more than one goal... that would've been a disaster 🙅‍♂️. Cameroon is next, can't wait to see how that goes 🤔. Maybe Morocco will finally make a deep run in the tournament 🤞?

so morocco's win is kinda amazing 🤩, like brahim diaz is on fire right now 💥 and that goal he scored was so sick 😲! i feel bad for tanzania though, they had some good chances but just couldn't score 🤔. morocco's team effort is really admirable, especially considering they're not playing their best football atm 🙅‍♂️. anyway, it's all good now, morocco's booked their spot in the quarters and will be facing cameroon next 🏆👍

Yaaas Morocco's win 🙌🏽 is defo a highlight of this Afcon - they showed a lot of heart and determination! 👍 Brahim Diaz's goal was pure magic 💫, I mean who needs to score multiple goals when you can just get one but it counts, right? 😂 And I gotta say, that Tanzania side gave them a run for their money, they really pushed Morocco to work hard. ⚽

But what really gets me is how Diaz reacted after the game - talk about being humble 🙏. He's already acknowledging the competition getting fiercer and his team having its struggles... sounds like he's got some nerves but in a good way? 😅 I mean, it's not like they're out of this thing just yet! 💪 They've made it to the quarters and now they've gotta step up their game. Bring on Cameroon! 🇨🇲

OMG 😱 I'm still buzzing about Morocco's Afcon win over Tanzania! Brahim Diaz is on fire 🔥 right now and his goal was pure class ! I mean, who wouldn't have scored from that tight angle? 🤯 The way he worked it past the defenders and got the ball in a position to shoot was incredible. I was on the edge of my seat watching that one! 😬

I'm loving how Diaz is taking this tournament by storm too - four goals so far and he's still going strong 💪. His confidence is growing with each game, and it's paying off for Morocco big time.

And now they're through to the quarter-finals, which is huge 🎉. Let's hope they can keep up this form against Cameroon next. It's going to be a tough one, but I'm rooting for them all the way! 💕

Idk why Morocco's Brahim Diaz is always on fire in Afcon 2025! He literally scored from like, what, 1 yard away from goal? That Real Madrid winger is a beast on the pitch 🤯💪 His goal was so sick! I'm loving his confidence too, saying they faced their toughest opponent and still managed to win. Tanzania was definitely giving it their all, though 😅

Idk what's goin on w/ Morocco & Tanzania, but that last minute goal from Diaz was insane 🤯! The kid's got some serious skills, he's now top scorer in this whole tournament lol. Tanzania had their chances, but just couldn't capitalize 😔. Morocco's team effort was decent, but they were a bit lucky, if u ask me 🤷‍♂️. Can't say I'm surprised, though - they've got some talented players like Diaz & Regragui on their side 💪. Now let's see how they do against Cameroon... that's gonna be an interesting one 😅.

OMG, what a comeback by Morocco! 🙌 I was on the edge of my seat watching this match, Tanzania really gave it their all but that goal by Brahim Diaz was just the icing on the cake 😂. The man is on fire right now, I'm so hyped for him and his team to make it to the quarter-finals! 💥 And what a statement win after beating South Africa 2-1 in the previous round 🙌. Cameroon better bring their A-game because Morocco is looking fierce 🔥👊

Dude, I'm still trying to process how Morocco pulled off that win against Tanzania 😅. Brahim Diaz is like a superhero out there! His goal was so sweet, and I'm loving how he's living up to his hype in this tournament 🤩. But at the same time, I gotta say, it's crazy how one team can be so dominant and then have others just not quite get it together 😂. Tanzania had some great chances, and you could tell they were all like "we're gonna make a comeback" 💪... but unfortunately for them, Morocco was just too good in the end 💯.

Anyway, now that Morocco is through to the quarter-finals, I'm excited to see how they'll do against Cameroon 🤔. They've got some tough opponents ahead of them, but if anyone can rise to the challenge, it's Brahim Diaz and co 👊. Bring on the next match, let's see what these guys are capable of! ⚽

"Man, Morocco's Brahim Diaz is on fire! I mean, that goal he scored was pure class 🤩🔥. He's been doing it all tournament and now he's the top scorer 🏆. Tanzania had some great chances but just couldn't capitalize 💡. Morocco played some sloppy defense at times but their attack was so potent, they can't be blamed for not scoring more goals 😅. And wow, that quarter-final matchup against Cameroon is going to be EPIC! 🤯 Can't wait to see those two teams go head-to-head in the AFCON final"

I'm loving this Afcon so far! Morocco's win is super sweet 🎉. I mean, Tanzania was giving them a run for their money, but that Brahim Diaz is on fire 🔥! He's been playing some amazing stuff in the tournament and now he's the top scorer - kudos to him! 😊

It's crazy how the competition is heating up, as Brahim said. Morocco had to dig deep and work hard to get that one goal, and I'm impressed by their resilience. They might not be the most dominant team, but they've got heart and that counts for something ❤️.

Cameroon vs Morocco in the quarters - it's gonna be a tough one! Both teams have strengths and weaknesses, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out 🤔. But overall, I'm loving the excitement and drama of this tournament - let's keep it going! 😃

man... thinkin bout this afcon thingy 🤔, it's like life itself, ya know? Morocco's win over Tanzania was all about seizing opportunities and making the most of 'em ⏰. Brahim Diaz's goal was like a reminder that sometimes you gotta be patient and work your way to the top 🔝. but at the same time, it's like, what if things don't go as planned? 🤦‍♂️ you can't control everything, but you can control how you respond to setbacks. Morocco didn't give up, they kept pushin' forward 💪. and that's what it's all about, right? adaptability and perseverance 🔁. and now they're movin' on to the next round, ready to face Cameroon 🇨🇲... can't wait to see how it all unfolds 😃

🙌 that goal by Brahim Diaz was insane! Morocco definitely deserved that win, they put in so much pressure on Tanzania's defense. 😅 I feel bad for Tanzania, they just couldn't capitalize on their chances. Simon Msuva and Feisal Salum were so close to scoring but just missed out 🤔. Anyway, it's all about Morocco now, let's see how they'll do against Cameroon in the quarter-finals 👀

ugh 🤦‍♂️ can't believe we're still using outdated football rules in 2025. I mean, come on! Cameroon's win over South Africa was pretty convincing, but have you seen the number of injuries they had? like, how many times did someone go down on the field?! 😩 and what's with all these long balls? can't we just play some proper football for once?! 🤯

omg can't believe how intense that afcon match was!!! morocco played so well under pressure and brahim diaz is literally a genius on the field 🤯 he's got some serious skills! Tanzania pushed them hard but in the end, morocco's teamwork paid off 💪 now they gotta step it up for the quarter-finals against cameroon... wish 'em luck 😊

OMG, that was such a nail-biter of a match!!! 😍 I'm literally so stoked for Morocco, Brahim Diaz is a total goal-scoring machine right now! 🚀 His strike on 64 minutes was insane, he worked his magic to get past the defense and into the goal. Tanzania were giving it their all though, those guys definitely showed some serious spirit 💪.

I love how Diaz praised his team for putting in the effort, even if things didn't go exactly as planned. It's clear that everyone is just trying to give it their all and see this competition out 🤝. And now they're off to face Cameroon in the quarter-finals, bring it on! 😆 I'm so here for this! 💪
