Beautiful Little Fool review – F Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald musical needs jazzing up

😐 I gotta say, I was really looking forward to seeing a stage show about F Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald's wild ride, but this one just fell flat for me πŸ€•. I mean, they assembled some talented cast members, no doubt, but the story itself felt so surface level...like they only scratched the surface of their relationship without really digging deep πŸ’”. Mental health issues are a huge part of Zelda's story and it was kinda disappointing to see them glossed over like that πŸ™„. But hey, I do love the Alabama scene - it showed a more tender side to their romance ❀️. Still, with another show in the works, fingers crossed it'll do better justice to this iconic couple πŸ‘

I'm kinda disappointed with Beautiful Little Fool πŸ€”. I mean, I love F Scott & Zelda's story as much as anyone, but it feels like they're glossing over some really dark stuff. Like, mental health is super important and can't be just swept under the rug πŸ’”. And don't even get me started on how they portray Zelda – she's so much more than just a damsel in distress πŸ™„. I need to see a show that gets all the complexities of their relationship right before I'll really buy into it πŸ’ͺ.

I'm really disappointed with this new musical πŸ€•... I think it's a great idea to explore F Scott and Zelda's relationship on stage, but Beautiful Little Fool falls flat because it doesn't do justice to their complex story. The mental health struggles that were such a big part of Zelda's life are barely even mentioned, which is just not right πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ... and don't even get me started on the way they portray Scott's character – he's so full of contradictions, but it feels like they're trying to simplify him too much. Maybe The Fitzgeralds of St Paul can do better?

I don't think it's fair to trash a show just 'cause it doesn't cover every aspect of F Scott and Zelda's relationship. I mean, come on, you can't fit everything into 2 hours of theater, right? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ The music is catchy and the cast is talented, so that's gotta count for something. Plus, Amy Parker did a great job with what she had to work with - mental health struggles are tough topics to tackle, but at least they tried, you know? And can we talk about how the show still manages to make their romance kinda sweet in those Alabama scenes? That's some beautiful stuff right there ❀️. Maybe next time around will be better for The Fitzgeralds of St Paul? 🀞

I feel meh about this new musical trying to bring F Scott and Zelda's story to life 🎭😐. I get that they're a fascinating couple with a super tragic love story, but I'm not convinced this show captures the essence of their relationship. The cast is talented, don't get me wrong πŸ™Œ, but the narrative just feels kinda shallow. I wish they'd dug deeper into Zelda's mental health struggles and explored more of her complexities πŸ‘€. And that Riviera scene? More like a dramatic plot twist than an actual representation of their tumultuous relationship 😐. Can we please get another show that really does justice to these literary icons? 🀞

I'm so over these new musicals trying to capitalize on classic relationships πŸ™„πŸŽ΅. Can't they just leave some things alone? I mean, the Fitzgeralds' story is wild enough without Hollywood putting its spin on it. And another thing, what's with the shallow narrative? Give us something more substance than just pop-inspired lyrics and a pretty face πŸ‘€. I'm all for exploring the complexities of Zelda's mental health struggles – it's about time we get some real representation on stage πŸ’ͺ. Until then, I'll stick to reading the books themselves πŸ“šπŸ’«
