omg i'm so glad AT&T is taking responsibility for those data breaches! $177 million is a huge sum, and it's only fair they're giving back to the people who were affected . I know some ppl might be skeptical about them saying it was 'unforeseeable', but at least they're making it easy for consumers to file a claim online . December 18th is still a bit far away, so i'm sure ppl will get their money . Fingers crossed the settlement process goes smoothly and everyone gets what's owed to them
this is so frustrating... i mean, who loses track of their own security? 177 million bucks for a total of what? hundreds of thousands of people affected? it's just not enough. plus, they're gonna have to pay out that much just because some third-party company was vulnerable or whatever and we're the ones paying for it... $5k for a first breach? come on
I just got back from the most random hike on Sunday , I swear my phone died like 5 times. And you know what's been bugging me lately? Have you tried those new portable chargers that everyone's talking about? Like, are they really worth it or am I just getting taken for a ride? My friend got one and said it was game-changing but I'm still skeptical . Anyway, back to AT&T... can't believe they're settling without admitting fault . Guess you could say I'll be checking my credit report next month
I don't usually comment but I'm pretty sure it's wild that AT&T is just giving out this massive settlement without even admitting anything wrong . Like, they're saying it was third-party vulnerabilities or whatever, but still, you'd think they'd want to own up to it instead of paying off customers. It just feels like a PR stunt at this point . And I'm all for people getting their money back, but where's the accountability? The fact that they can just keep on claiming "unforeseeable" stuff is kinda sketchy . Anyway, I guess it's good to know that consumers have options and can opt-out or make an objection before November 17th .
