At least 3 dead, 6 injured when car crashes into Los Angeles supermarket

Tragedy Strikes in Los Angeles as Car Crashes into Supermarket, Killing Three and Injuring Six.

In a devastating incident that shook the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, a car crashed into a 99 Ranch Market supermarket, claiming the lives of at least three people and leaving six others injured. The accident occurred around noon at the store located on Westwood Boulevard, with emergency services rushing to the scene shortly after.

According to authorities, the victims included two employees of the supermarket and a customer, identified as a 55-year-old man, a 42-year-old woman, and a 30-year-old man. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that three people were pronounced dead at the scene, while six others were taken to hospital with varying degrees of injury.

The driver involved in the crash has been identified as a 70-year-old woman who was cooperating fully with police. The Los Angeles Police Department described the incident as an "accidental traffic collision," adding that the vehicle had struck a bicyclist just a block away from the scene before crashing into the store. Fortunately, the bicyclist and the driver declined medical treatment.

Mayor Karen Bass expressed her condolences to the families of those affected, thanking the first responders who responded quickly to render aid. Her crisis response team has been deployed to offer support and resources to the employees and their families.

The supermarket remains closed for the time being as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the accident. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, but officials have assured that it appears to be an accident rather than a deliberate act.

oh man my heart is literally shattered reading about this πŸ€• like three people are gone and six more are hurt its just not fair can you even imagine what their families must be going through right now😭 the 70 year old driver wasnt even that much younger but still her age cant save anyone from making such a reckless decision behind the wheel πŸš—πŸ‘Ž i wish we could know why this happened but until then were all just left with this void of questions and tears my thoughts r with the victims and their loved ones may they rest in peace πŸ’”πŸ˜’

πŸš¨πŸ’” this is just another example of how crazy life can get. people are so distracted by their own stuff that they forget about the world around them. like, a woman was driving and she hits another person on a bike... who knows what's going on in her head? maybe she's not even paying attention πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ but anyway, 3 lives lost already and it's gonna take a while to figure out if it was even an accident or what. i hope the people affected get the help they need 😊

πŸ€• what's with all these crazy accidents in LA lately?! first it's a car crashes into a supermarket and now i'm seeing those 'do not text and drive' ads on my phone πŸ“±πŸ˜© 70-year-old lady at the wheel? how does that even happen? anyway, hope the victims' families get the support they need πŸ’•πŸ™

Just heard about this terrible incident in LA πŸš—πŸ˜± - three people dead and six injured in a car crash into a supermarket. You can't even imagine what's going through the minds of those who witnessed it... the driver was just 70, but I guess age doesn't shield you from accidents. The fact that it happened to an innocent customer is really sad. πŸ€• How could this happen? Still, gotta give credit to the emergency responders and police who are working hard to figure out what went wrong. 😊 Too much chaos in LA right now, one tragedy after another... wish everyone involved some peace of mind πŸ’”

πŸ€•πŸ˜” Oh no, my heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives in this terrible accident πŸ™. Three innocent people were just doing their job or shopping for essentials and then... πŸ’₯ Life is so fragile, right? And what's even more heartbreaking is that a 70-year-old driver was able to walk away from it all, yet three others didn't get the same luck 😒. I hope the investigation finds out everything they need to know so justice can be served for the victims' families. πŸ™πŸ’―
