Anthony Joshua's Driver Charged with Murder in Fatal Nigeria Crash
A Nigerian court is set to hear a charge of causing death by dangerous driving against Anthony Joshua's driver, who was allegedly involved in a fatal crash that killed two people. Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, has been charged with driving without a valid license and reckless behavior behind the wheel.
On December 29, Joshua, 36, his personal trainer Latif Ayodele, and strength coach Sina Ghami were traveling at high speed on Nigeria's Lagos-Ibadan expressway when the passenger-side tire of their Lexus SUV burst while trying to overtake another vehicle. The car crashed into a stationary lorry carrying soya beans parked on the hard shoulder.
The accident left two people dead, and Kayode was injured along with Joshua. Miraculously, they survived with minor injuries but spent several days in the hospital for observation. Following the crash, Joshua paid his respects to his friends at Ayodele's funeral home.
According to reports, the driver was traveling "beyond the legally prescribed speed limit" when the tire blew out, leading to the fatal collision. Kayode, a longtime member of Joshua's team, had been granted bail but will remain in custody until he meets conditions.
The incident occurred just 10 days after Joshua celebrated his victory against YouTuber Jake Paul in the US. At the time, Joshua was preparing for a potential return to the boxing ring early this year.

we all make mistakes, and it sounds like this dude was just trying to get his passenger to their destination safely. the speed limit in Nigeria is like 80km/h, what's the harm in taking a little extra time to pass that truck?
