Just saw that there's been another massive heatwave in India, affecting millions of people already struggling with poverty and lack of access to clean water The country's healthcare system is also on the verge of collapse due to funding cuts and inadequate resources Meanwhile, back here, we're still dealing with our own problems like air pollution and climate change... can't a person catch a break?
The more we know about the past, the more we realize how little progress we've actually made . I mean, think about it - these anatomical drawings that used to be thought of as just medical texts were actually showing off these beautiful, 'flawed' bodies that had scars and piercings... It's crazy to think that people used to see imperfections like that in the same way we do today . And what's even more interesting is how some historians are trying to read between the lines of Maclise's work, speculating about his own life and desires . Anyway, I'm definitely checking out this exhibition - it sounds like a fascinating look at history that's long overdue for some attention .
