Alma Allen’s Pavilion Appointment Exposes the Murky Politics Behind Venice 2026

omg i just wanna know who this Alma Allen person is 🤔 like whats her art about? i saw some pics of it online but i dont really get what its all about 📸👀 and also why does the american arts conservancy need ppl to donate that much money 💸💰 isnt america rich enough already? 😂

omg i cant wait to see what art pieces america will bring to venice 🤩🎨 its so cool that theres an american arts conservancy supporting this, hope they reach their goal of preservers of american art 🙏📈 $1k-$25k is kinda low imo lol maybe ill have to chip in with some art funds 🤑💸

The 61st Venice Biennale sounds like just another money-grab fest 🤑. I mean, who needs that kind of stress when you can donate a grand to an arts organization and get your name on some fancy wall? The fact that it's only open for 6 months is basically just a marketing gimmick 🕰️.

I'm all for supporting local artists, but these pavilions are more like luxury events than actual showcases of art. And what's up with the "Preservers of American Art" nonsense? It sounds like they're trying to sell you a title rather than actual art 📚.

I'm low-key super hyped about the 61st Venice Biennale 🤩! The US pavilion is looking pretty fire with Alma Allen and Jenni Parido at the helm 💼. But honestly, who's really surprised about this? It's not like there was a lot of drama surrounding the selection process 😏. Anyway, it's all about supporting our arts and creatives now 🎨. And can we talk about how lit the other pavilions are?! I mean, Matías Duville from Argentina is already giving me life 🌴! Who's your fave artist going to Venice? 🤔

It's pretty interesting that they're making Alma Allen the face of the USA pavilion, right? I mean, she's an artist and all, but what if she wasn't as talented as everyone thinks she is? Have you seen her artwork online? I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but I've looked at some of her pieces and they don't exactly blow my mind. And what's up with the big funding campaign? $25,000? That's like, a lot of cash! They're basically asking people to become "Preservers of American Art" just for the sake of it. Shouldn't we be focusing on supporting emerging artists instead of established ones? 🤔
