"A great honor": Trump says he would accept Nobel Prize offered by Machado

Donald Trump has announced that he plans to meet with María Corina Machado, the Venezuelan opposition leader who was recently awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. During a recent interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump expressed interest in meeting Machado next week and even hinted at accepting her offer of the prestigious award.

According to Trump, being recognized by Machado would be "a great honor." However, he also claimed that not receiving the prize has been an embarrassment to Norway, despite his previous false statements about ending eight wars. This claim is particularly notable given that Trump's decision not to support Machado's bid for the presidency in Venezuela was driven in part by his desire for a Nobel Peace Prize.

White House insiders had previously stated that Trump's long-held ambition for the Nobel Peace Prize was a major reason for his refusal to back Machado's presidential campaign. In a surprising turn of events, Machado offered Trump her Nobel Prize, stating that she wanted to share it with him. Trump has now accepted this offer, suggesting that he plans to take the award.

Trump's decision comes at a time when Venezuela is facing significant turmoil and uncertainty under President Nicolás Maduro's leadership. While some may view Trump's actions as self-serving or opportunistic, others may see his acceptance of Machado's Nobel Prize as an opportunity to engage with key stakeholders in the region. Regardless, one thing is clear: Donald Trump has once again grabbed headlines with his unconventional approach to international relations and awards ceremonies.

Trump thinks he can fix Venezuela by just showing up 🤔... that's like thinking a trophy is gonna solve everything 🏆. I get it, he wants the fame and recognition, but what about all the people suffering over there? At least Machado's got some real guts for offering him her Nobel Prize – shows she's not afraid to think outside the box 💡. Still, this whole thing feels like a publicity stunt to me 📺. Can't help but wonder if Trump's just using this as an excuse to get more attention and distract from all his other controversies 😏.

😔 This just doesn't sit right with me... I mean, come on! He's just jumping at every chance to get attention and praise himself. And Machado, who was already doing amazing work for Venezuela, gets caught up in this whole thing? 🤦‍♂️ I feel so bad for her, it's like she's being used as a prop to boost Trump's ego. 😔 What about the people of Venezuela who are really suffering under Maduro's rule? Does Trump care about them at all? 💔

😒 this is so weird... like what even is going on here? trump gets a nobel peace prize from machado, of all people. i mean, i guess you gotta hand it to her for trying to make things more interesting. but at the same time, isn't this just another one of trump's ego trips? 🤔 and what's with him acting like not getting the prize is an embarrassment to norway? isn't he the one who made all those false statements about ending wars in the first place? 🙄 anyway, i guess only time will tell if machado's move actually accomplishes something or just ends up being another pointless publicity stunt. 👀

idk what's going on here... think trump is trying to be all buddy buddy w machado but honestly doesn't care about anything except himself 🤷‍♂️. newsflash, trump: the nobel peace prize isn't just a pretty trophy, it's about actual work & dedication to making a difference. not some publicity stunt to boost your ego 😒. and btw, why is this even possible? shouldn't there be some kinda vetting process for ppl offering these kinds of awards to world leaders? 🤔

🤷‍♂️ so trump is gonna meet machado now? thats wild how he's been talking trash about her in the past but suddenly she offers him the nobel peace prize and hes all smiles 🤑 like what changed his mind? maybe its just a freebie for his ego after all these years of trying to get that award himself. either way, its gonna be interesting to see what comes outta this meeting 👀

🤔 I don't get why Trump is so keen on this whole thing. Like, what's in it for him? He's already got a Nobel Peace Prize, but it was more of an embarrassment than an honor back then. Now he's just going to accept some Venezuelan opposition leader's award and pretend like he cares about the people in Venezuela? 🤷‍♂️ And what's with the Norway thing? I mean, come on, dude, you lied about ending eight wars... don't even get me started on that one. 😒 This whole thing just smells like a PR stunt to me.

I gotta wonder what's going on here 🤔. So Trump thinks getting a Nobel Peace Prize is gonna boost his rep? Newsflash Donny: it's not about you, it's about the cause 💥. I mean, Machado's been fighting for democracy in Venezuela and all of a sudden Trump's like "oh, I'll take your prize"? It seems kinda self-serving to me 🤑.

I'm also kinda surprised she offered him the prize in the first place 🤷‍♀️. I guess you could say that's some nice karma after he didn't support her campaign back then 👀. Either way, it's a move that'll definitely get people talking 💬. But seriously, isn't this just another example of Trump using his platform for personal gain? 🤑

I think what really matters here is how the rest of us see this. Some folks might say it's an opportunity to bring attention to Venezuela and its struggles 😕. Others might be like me, thinking "hold up, Donny, is this just another PR stunt?" 🤦‍♂️ Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure: Trump never fails to make headlines 😉

Trump thinks he can just waltz into Norway and take their Nobel Peace Prize like it's his own? 🤣 Like, I get that he wants the attention, but come on! He's been making a mockery of himself for years with all those crazy claims... this is just another example of him trying to turn himself into some kinda hero. And what's with Machado just offering him the prize like it's no big deal? Doesn't she know how fake he is? 😒 I mean, I guess it's kind of cool that she's willing to share her Nobel Peace Prize with someone who doesn't even have a clue about what peace actually means... but still. This whole thing reeks of desperation.

🤔 I'm like totally surprised that Trump would accept Machado's Nobel Peace Prize 🙌 - I mean, it's not like he's exactly known for being a diplomat or anything 😂. But you know what? I think it could actually be kinda cool if he uses this as an opportunity to talk some sense into Maduro and the people of Venezuela 🤞. Trump's got a weird way of doing things, but sometimes that weirdness can catch people off guard and lead to unexpected progress 💡. Plus, Machado seems like a total rockstar for even offering him the prize in the first place 👏. Maybe this is the start of something big... or maybe it'll just be another one of Trump's crazy PR stunts 🤷‍♂️.

idk why trump does this kinda thing 🤷‍♂️ anyway i think machado's offer was nice but it's still weird that trump accepted the prize after he wasn't even a fan of hers back in the day... maybe he just wanted to be associated with someone who got a prestigious award lol, now he can say "hey i'm friends with nobel peace prize winner" 🙄
