OMG 42 lives lost at sea?! That's just heartbreaking . I mean, I know the Mediterranean route is super treacherous, but come on! Can't we do better than this? Like, how many more people need to die before we take action? The stats are insane - over 1,000 lives lost already this year alone... it's like a never-ending tragedy . And don't even get me started on the conditions those survivors were in for 6 whole days at sea . It's just not right. We need to step up our game and make sure these smugglers are held accountable, but also that we're doing everything we can to help people who are trying to escape desperate situations .
I'm not sure if I'm right or wrong about this... But it seems like the whole system is just kinda broken, you know? Like, we're trying to help these people escape war and poverty in their home countries, but then they get stuck in the middle of the Mediterranean with no way out. It's crazy! And I'm not saying that MSF or any other organization can do everything on their own, but it feels like we need more than just "stretched" resources to solve this problem... maybe a complete overhaul? On the other hand, if we're gonna keep criticizing the way things are done, don't we also gotta give credit where credit is due? Like, IOM and MSF are doing some seriously brave work out there. Can't just dismiss their efforts as "all too little, all too late"... or can I?
OMG just saw this news about 42 migrants losing their lives at sea and I'm literally shook. Can't even process how many people are dying trying to reach a safer life. It's like, we gotta do more, ya know? We need stronger safety nets for these ppl & more ways to get help ASAP . Italy's restrictive practices towards migrants are a major issue, imo . MSF is doing everything they can with their new vessel, but it's just not enough . We gotta keep pushing for change and supporting orgs like them . I'm still trying to process this, fam...
