Britain's Biotech Ambition: Can Gene Editing Save Nature?
The UK government's Advanced Research and Invention Agency (Aria) has announced a £30 million grant program to accelerate nature's ability to adapt to climate change through biotechnology.
The 14 projects selected for funding will use cutting edge techniques like CRISPR Cas9 gene editing and mRNA vaccines to develop "precision tools" for protecting native British wildlife species.
