Unpacking 10 defining stats of the first 10 games of the 2025-26 Sixers season

The Philadelphia Sixers are off to an impressive 6-4 start this season, showcasing significant growth from last year's team. Despite some glaring defensive issues, particularly when Joel Embiid is on the court, the team has largely demonstrated a willingness to face challenges head-on.

One key area of improvement is Embiid himself. The former NBA MVP struggled early in the season, scoring just four points in 20 minutes against the Boston Celtics. However, he has since bounced back, averaging 20+ points per game while improving his driving and foul-drawing skills. While still imperfect offensively, Embiid's ability to dominate on the glass and draw attention from defenders has been a major asset for the team.

On the other hand, Embiid's defensive limitations have created problems for the Sixers. His inability to move quickly enough to protect the rim has led to issues on both ends of the court, making it difficult for his teammates to recover when he is unable to make an impact. However, this may be a necessary evil given Embiid's knee injuries and the need to avoid exacerbating them.

The team has found success in their three-guard units, featuring Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Quentin Grimes. This arrangement has led to outstanding results on both offense and defense, with Edgecombe showcasing impressive skills as a driver and playmaker. The trio's ability to slow down the game and control pace has been key to the team's success.

Maxey himself is having an MVP-caliber season, averaging 30+ points per game while displaying all-around skills as a scorer, playmaker, and defender. His growth as a player has been remarkable, and he now finds himself at the center of the team's efforts to stop opponents from bleeding in the fourth quarter.

Edgecombe has also exceeded expectations, providing significant scoring, rebounding, and playmaking numbers while demonstrating maturity beyond his years. The 20-year-old rookie's ability to control his pace and body has been invaluable, and he is likely to be a key part of the team's success for years to come.

While the Sixers have struggled defensively in the third quarter of games this season, they still possess a number of promising young players who will look to help them close that gap. The eventual return of Paul George should provide some relief, and the team has made significant strides in adding physicality and athleticism to their frontcourt.

One area where the Sixers have shown improvement is on the glass, particularly on offense. The addition of Andre Drummond and forwards Jabari Walker and Dominick Barlow has led to better rebounding numbers, but they still face challenges defensively.

Kelly Oubre Jr. has been a model of consistency this season, starting all 10 games while displaying reliable shooting from beyond the arc and strong defensive skills. His performance has been a welcome change for the team.

In conclusion, the Sixers are off to an impressive start this season, despite some lingering issues on defense. The team's growth under coach Nick Nurse and the emergence of young players like Maxey, Edgecombe, and Oubre Jr. have provided hope for fans that they will continue to improve as the season progresses.

THE PHILLY SIXERS ARE ON FIRE!!! ๐Ÿš€ I LOVE WATCHING MAXEY PLAY HE'S LIKE A DIFFERENT PLAYER FROM LAST SEASON!!! ๐Ÿ˜ EDGECOMBE IS ALSO STEALING THE SHOW WITH HIS IMPRESSIVE SKILLS AS A DRIVER AND PLAYMAKER!!! ๐Ÿ’ช AND KELLY OUBRE JR. IS CONSISTENTLY BRINGING IT EVERY NIGHT!!! ๐ŸŽฏ I THINK THEIR THREE-GUARD UNIT IS KEY TO THEIR SUCCESS SO FAR THIS SEASON!!! ๐Ÿ”’ THE TEAM'S GROWTH UNDER COACH NURSE HAS BEEN AMAZING TO SEE!!! ๐Ÿ‘

the sixers are really showing some great promise this season ๐Ÿคฉ i mean they've got some huge games from maxey and edgecombe, which is amazing considering how young they are. but at the same time, embiid's defensive issues are still a major concern ๐Ÿค” i feel like if he could just be more reliable on that end, the team would be nearly unstoppable. and i love how coach nurse is trying to balance his minutes with the big fella, it shows he cares about the players' health too ๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿค” The thing is, ppl r still hyped about Embiid being the only one who can carry this team on his back, but honestly, I think he's just getting better at hiding his weaknesses lol ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ His defenders are like, "hold up, let me get outta here!" when he drives to the rim. But for real tho, Maxey & Edgecombe r killing it on offense! They're like two peas in a pod, controlling pace & slowing down the game. And Oubre Jr's been solid as glass, reliable shooting & all that jazz ๐Ÿคฉ I'm still waiting 4 Paul George 2 come back & shake things up though ๐Ÿ˜

idk what nba teams would do w/o their all-star players, but i think 6ers should focus on gettin better on D ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. embiid's defense is a thing and it's a big one. can't just rely on him to dominate on the glass and in foul draw. maxey and edgecombe are killin it though, gotta find ways to get them more involved on D ๐Ÿ‘

the sixers are playing some really solid basketball ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’ช this season. maxey is a beast on offense, no doubt about it ๐Ÿ˜Ž. but i still think edgecombe needs to work on his defense, he's been getting torched by smaller guards. and on the other hand, embiid is a different story, when he's healthy, he's unstoppable ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‘Š. the three-guard units are definitely a strength for them, and it'll be interesting to see how they adapt with paul george coming back from injury ๐Ÿคž.

I'm loving how the Sixers are taking a more pace-and-space approach with their three-guard units ๐Ÿคฉ it's really paying off! I think Embiid's growth is a big factor in this, he's not the same player from last year and it's great to see him taking advantage of his strengths while still working on his weaknesses. The addition of Drummond has also been a boost on the glass, and Maxey is having an absolute monster season ๐Ÿคฏ he's carrying the team on his back at times and showing why he's an MVP candidate!

I'm so hyped about this Sixers team rn ๐Ÿคฉ! They're looking super strong on offense with Tyrese Maxey leading the charge ๐Ÿ”ฅ. I love how they've been using their three-guard units, it's like a breath of fresh air for the league ๐Ÿ‘Œ. And let's be real, Joel Embiid is still a beast on the glass even if he's not perfect defensively ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. But for real though, Edgecombe and Maxey are gonna carry this team to the playoffs next year, I can feel it ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

man, I'm loving the Sixers this season so far ๐Ÿคฉ they're playing some solid basketball, especially with Embiid being more dominant on both ends of the court... but you know what's really impressive? Maxey's growth into an MVP-caliber player ๐Ÿ˜ฒ he's literally carrying the team at times and it's insane to watch. and Edgecombe's rookie skills are crazy ๐Ÿคฏ I mean, I'm not surprised that Oubre Jr.'s been consistent all season, but the rest of the young crew is really stepping up their game too... still gotta work on defense tho ๐Ÿค” those third quarter struggles gotta be addressed if they wanna make a deep playoff run. but overall, I'm stoked to see what the rest of the season holds for these guys ๐Ÿ‘

man i'm loving the 76ers this year ๐Ÿคฉ they're really starting to come together and it's dope to see joel embiid bounce back from last year's struggles he's still got some work to do defensively but his all-around skills are legit ๐Ÿš€ tyrese maxey is a total beast on the court too, his scoring and playmaking ability is insane ๐Ÿ˜ฒ and edgecombe is like the ultimate rookie, so chill and clutch. i'm hyped to see how they'll perform in the playoffs, hopefully they can close that defensive gap ๐Ÿคž

omg i'm so hyped about the sixers this season! ๐Ÿคฉ they're killing it on offense with maxey averaging 30+ points a game lol what a scorer ๐Ÿ’ช and edgecombe is being super underrated imo he's only 20 and already showing maturity beyond his years ๐Ÿ˜Ž plus they've got drummond on the glass which is HUGE for their rebounding numbers ๐Ÿคฏ but idk man i still gotta see how they're gonna bounce back from those defensive issues esp with embiid struggling early on ๐Ÿ˜ฌ anyway i'm loving the three-guard units they've been playing and george's gonna be a game-changer when he comes back ๐Ÿ‘Š

I'm so over all the hype around this Sixers team ๐Ÿ™„. People are saying they're on a roll, but I think it's just because they've been playing some weak opponents early on. Once they face some tougher teams, their weaknesses will really show. And don't even get me started on Embiid's knee issues - it's just a recipe for disaster. The fact that they're relying on him to carry the team is already concerning. Meanwhile, I'm loving how under-the-radar Tyrese Maxey is being this season ๐Ÿ˜. Nobody's giving him enough credit for his all-around skills. And what's with all the fuss about their three-guard units? It's just a bunch of guys playing good team defense ๐Ÿ™„. Give me a break.

I think the Sixers are playing better than their defensive stats let on ๐Ÿค”. The team's overall pace and shooting ability is really helping to mask some of those defensive issues. Plus, with Embiid being more efficient in his game and not taking so many tough shots, that opens up opportunities for the other guys like Maxey and Oubre Jr. to step up and make big plays on both ends.

The young players like Edgecombe are doing some amazing things for this team, it's awesome to see them come into the league and already make such a positive impact ๐Ÿ™Œ. And while they still have work to do on D, I think their athleticism and length are going to be huge assets in the future. The addition of Drummond and Walker is also bringing some much-needed physicality to the frontcourt.

Of course, they can't let up now - they need to keep building on this momentum and work on those defensive issues ๐Ÿ€. But overall, I'm really optimistic about where this team is headed. They've got a great mix of veteran leadership and young talent, and with Nurse at the helm, I think they'll be able to continue growing and improving throughout the season ๐Ÿ’ก.

The Sixers are really showing promise this season ๐Ÿคฉ! I mean, it's not perfect โ€“ Embiid's defense is still a work in progress ๐Ÿ˜ฌ โ€“ but the team's growth and ability to adapt is pretty inspiring. Maxey is literally unstoppable right now ๐ŸŒŸ, and Edgecombe is such an underrated talent ๐Ÿคซ. The addition of Drummond has definitely brought some much-needed physicality to the frontcourt. My only concern is that they might struggle when Paul George comes back from injury... still hopeful though ๐Ÿ˜Š

The Sixers are killing it this season ๐Ÿคฏ! I'm loving how Embiid is bouncing back from his early struggles, and Maxey's all-around skills are insane ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Edgecombe is also a hidden gem, he's got some serious chemistry with his teammates ๐Ÿ‘ซ. And let's not forget about Oubre Jr., he's been clutch off the bench ๐Ÿ™Œ.

I think the team's defense needs work, but they're getting closer ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The addition of Drummond and other big men is helping them secure rebounds on offense, which is huge ๐Ÿ’ช. It's all about growth and development, and I'm excited to see how these young players continue to improve ๐Ÿค”.

The three-guard units are a game-changer, it's like they have a different identity out there ๐Ÿ”ฎ. And Paul George's return can't come soon enough โฐ. The Sixers are definitely a team to watch this season, and I'm hyped for the playoffs ๐ŸŽ‰!

I'm thinkin' the Sixers are lookin' pretty solid this season ๐Ÿคฉ. I mean, yeah, defense is a thing they're still workin' on, but Embiid's growth is huge ๐Ÿ™Œ. He's like a different player out there now. And that three-guard unit? ๐Ÿ”ฅ They're makin' it hard for opponents to keep up with 'em.

Maxey's MVP-caliber season is no joke ๐Ÿคฏ. The kid's got skills for days. Edgecombe's doin' more than just expected too, and Oubre Jr.'s been a reliable presence on both ends of the court. It's good to see them young guns shinin'.

I'm not sure about Drummond and the new additions in the frontcourt yet ๐Ÿค”. They're bringin' some physicality and athleticism, but we'll just have to wait and see if it pays off.

Still, all things considered, I'm feelin' pretty good about the Sixers this season ๐Ÿ˜Š. They've got heart, they're growin', and they're makin' progress. It's gonna be fun to watch 'em develop further ๐Ÿ’ช.

๐Ÿ˜’ They're having a good run, but Joel Embiid's injuries are a major concern ๐Ÿค•. He can't keep playing 30+ minutes a game without getting hurt... what if he misses like 5-6 games? That would be a huge blow to the team ๐Ÿ’”. And don't even get me started on their lack of depth in the frontcourt ๐Ÿ˜“. They're relying too heavily on Andre Drummond, and if he gets hurt or has an off game, they'll be in trouble ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Not to mention, Tyrese Maxey's production is unsustainable... what happens when he inevitably hits a slump? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

๐Ÿ˜ฌ Another basketball team is making progress but still has a way to go... ๐Ÿ€ The Sixers are indeed looking good but Embiid's defensive issues are a concern ๐Ÿ’” He's been doing better on offense, which is cool I guess ๐Ÿ˜ But his teammates have got to step up and help him out more defensively โšก๏ธ And what about the lack of depth at center? They're still relying on Drummond and Barlow too much... ๐Ÿคฏ It's not like it's going to be a problem or anything, right? ๐Ÿ˜’

Love how far Embiid has come this season ๐Ÿคฉ, but gotta wonder if he can keep it up without getting injured again ๐Ÿค•. The team's 3-guard units are insane ๐Ÿ”ฅ, and I'm loving the way Maxey is taking over games. Edgecombe's maturity is impressive for a rookie ๐Ÿ‘, and Oubre Jr.'s consistency is a breath of fresh air ๐Ÿ˜Œ. Can't wait to see how it all plays out in the playoffs ๐Ÿ“†!
