I'm not sure about all this crime fiction hype 🤔... some of these authors are just regurgitating old tropes or copying off Agatha Christie's style (although Ross Montgomery does a decent job with his modern twist). And what's with the obsession over AI and social media? We're already drowning in information, do we really need more thrillers about algorithms gone rogue? 📊 And don't even get me started on the historical fiction – it feels like every new release is just another 'The Good Nazi' or 'Schindler's List' rip-off 😐. I mean, I love a good page-turner as much as the next person, but can we please focus on something other than our own mortality? 🙅‍♂️
 
I gotta say, I'm not buying all this hype around crime fiction lately... 🤔 Every other week it's some new author trying to outdo the last one with their "timely commentary" on tech or historical events. Can't we just have a good old-fashioned whodunit without having to spoon-feed us about the symbolism of AI or the "human condition"? 😒

Don't get me wrong, I love a good page-turner as much as the next person, but these novels all seem like they're trying too hard to be clever and edgy. And have you seen the author bios for some of these folks? They're just rehashing every buzzword from the past year - "dark", "twisted", "addictive"... 🙄 Give me a break.

Give me something with real stakes, like a family torn apart by secrets or deceit... that's where I'll be finding my next obsession 😏

Ross Montgomery's "The Murder at World's End" sounds like a modern take on Agatha Christie, and Paul Bradley Carr's "The Confessions" is like a cautionary tale about our reliance on technology 🤖💻. And don't even get me started on Samir Machado de Machado's "The Good Nazi" - it's like historical fiction meets thriller, and Francine Toon's "Bluff" has me intrigued with its slow-burning tension 😏. And finally, Sharon Bolton's "The Token" sounds like a high-stakes game of cat and mouse that'll keep you on the edge of your seat! ANYWAY, I NEED TO GET MY HANDS ON THESE BOOKS ASAP!!! 📚💥
