The audience is howling and drooling over Filament Theatre’s latest show, literally

Filament Theatre's Latest Show is a Wild Ride: Babies Steal the Show

In a bold experiment, Filament Theatre has created a new show that puts the audience at its center - literally. "RAIN: for babies and their carers" is an immersive experience designed specifically for infants and their caregivers, where the performers invite them to join in on the action.

The show takes place in a cozy space with soft fabrics dangling from the ceiling and a soothing soundtrack of raindrops. The stage is covered in a giant baby blanket, where actors Ariya Hawkins and Alexandra Plattos Sulack perform rain-themed songs while cellist Sonia Goldberg creates a gentle atmosphere. But here's the twist: the audience is encouraged to participate.

Babies drool, play with each other, and even pick their noses on cue. The show's director, Ellie Levine, says that all these behaviors are totally fine, and in fact, are an important part of the experience. "We want the babies to be comfortable and happy," she explains. "The focus should be on them having a safe and enjoyable time."

As the audience watches, they see performers inviting babies onto the stage, where they're showered with attention and affection. It's not uncommon for babies to take their first steps or fall asleep during the show, according to Levine.

For first-time parents Julia Kessler and Brian Bradford, seeing this show was a dream come true. Their 7-week-old daughter Margaretta was thrilled to be part of the experience. "I was so excited to see this," said Kessler. "There's such a need for it."

The performers seem to enjoy being upstaged by their tiny audience members. "It's the world's most heart-warming gig, for sure," says Ariya Hawkins. "We're happy to be able to facilitate calm and rest and positive bonding time for these families - especially when everything moves so fast in our day-to-day."

In short, "RAIN: for babies and their carers" is a game-changer. It's an immersive experience that puts the audience at its center - literally. And who knows? You might just find yourself howling, drooling, or even taking a snooze during this unforgettable spectacle.

I mean, I've seen some weird stuff in my time but this takes the cake 🍰. A show for babies where they're encouraged to play, cry, and poop on cue? Sounds like a real barrel of fun 😂. I'm not sure what's more impressive, the fact that the performers are okay with all this chaos or the fact that some parents are actually paying to be there for it 💸.

I can imagine the director's notes: "More drooling! More cooing! Less naptime!" 🤣. But hey, if it's what new parents need, then I'm all for it 👶. It's like the ultimate baby-sitting experience... minus the whole 'not falling asleep on you' thing 😴.

I do have to give props to the performers though - they're basically just happy to be getting upstaged by tiny humans 🤷‍♀️. And who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to enjoy a show without feeling like I'm stuck in some kind of baby-sitting purgatory 😂.

Anyway, if you're looking for a new experience that's guaranteed to make you laugh (or cry... or both), then "RAIN: for babies and their carers" is the show for you 🎉. Just don't forget your nose plugs 👀.

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s kinda cool how Filament Theatre is creating experiences for babies and their caregivers. It's like they're saying "you know what, adults? You can have all the wild rides you want on stage, but we're gonna put the real magic in the hands (and feet) of our smallest audience members 🤩. I mean, who needs a fancy set when you can just give everyone a giant baby blanket and some soothing music? It's like they're saying "it's okay to be messy and imperfect" - which is actually kinda refreshing 😊. And can we talk about how adorable it is that the performers are so happy to be upstaged by their tiny audience members? 🤗 I think this show is a great reminder that sometimes the best experiences come from just being present and enjoying life's little moments 💕.

omg I'm not sure if I'd wanna watch my kid get all up in the faces of strangers 😂, and isn't it weird that the director says it's okay for babies to pick their noses on cue? 🤢, anyway its kinda cool that they're creating this immersive experience for new parents and their little ones. i mean, who needs a babysitter when you can just let your kid run wild in front of some strangers? 😂 but seriously, it sounds like the performers are super chill about having the babies be in charge, which is def part of the experience they're going for 🌈

🤯 Babies are stealing the show and I am HERE. FOR. IT! 😂👶 This concept is genius 🧠 and I love that Filament Theatre is putting its audience at the center 💖. Who needs boring old stage shows when you can let tiny humans run the show? 🎉 The attention to detail is stunning, from the cozy space to the rain-themed soundtrack ☁️. And can we talk about how adorable it must be for babies to get all that attention and affection on cue? 😍👶 My heart just melted reading this! 💖 Can't wait to see "RAIN: for babies and their carers" live 🎟️

🤯 I mean, can you believe babies are stealing the show now? I guess it's cool that Filament Theatre is trying something new and catering to parents who want to share these special moments with their little ones. It's not every day you get to see a 7-week-old taking her first steps on stage 😂. But for real, have you seen some of the reviews from parents who've been to this show? Some people are saying it's like watching a toddler tantrum, but in a good way 🤣. Either way, I'm curious to try it out and see what all the fuss is about 👀.
