Tell us your favourite late-arriving TV characters

If a character walks into a TV show in its final season, it's often with a profound impact on the narrative. They bring a fresh perspective or shake up existing dynamics, transforming the storyline forever.

Take Brienne of Tarth from Game of Thrones. Her introduction midway through the series catapulted her to legend status. The same goes for the Hot Priest from Fleabag, whose unexpected presence sparked a turning point in Phoebe Waller-Bridge's critically acclaimed comedy-drama.

However, not all characters are as fortunate when their arrival is delayed until later seasons. While some thrive under the spotlight, others fumble with a lack of context or backstory.

So, who's your go-to character? That show-stopping, game-changing addition that changed everything? We'd love to hear about it.

I think those are all legit examples but gotta say, I'm more into that one show where the main character just kinda... disappears for a bit 🤯 And then suddenly shows up again and changes EVERYTHING! It's like a reset button. I love how it shakes up the entire story and you're left wondering what the heck is going on 💥

🤔 I've always been fascinated by characters like Eddard Stark from Game of Thrones... not so much because he was show-stopping at first, but how his introduction later in the series really humanized him. Without all the baggage of initial expectations, we got to see the real Ned Stark and understand what made him tick. That's when the show truly became epic 🚂

I think the Hot Priest from Fleabag is such an interesting example of how a late arrival can still have a huge impact. I mean, Phoebe Waller-Bridge did a great job of making him feel like he's been there the whole time, even though we didn't know much about him at first.

For me, it's characters like them that remind us that sometimes you don't need a lot to make an entrance. The Hot Priest just kind of... dropped in and changed everything! He added this new layer to Phoebe's story that was both surprising and perfect. I love how he brought out the best in her character, even when she wasn't trying too hard.

It's like, when you're watching a show and suddenly someone walks in, it's like the whole dynamic of the room shifts. The Hot Priest did that for me, and I'm still feeling the ripples from his entrance 😊

just had me think of that one episode from Breaking Bad where Gus Fring walks in and suddenly the whole dynamic changes I was so invested in the show for so long but when he showed up it was like a new ball game - added this whole layer of complexity to Walter's character 🤯. never thought about how backstory affects these characters before, makes sense why some thrive while others don't

🤣😂[insert GIF of Daenerys Targaryen walking into the final season of Game of Thrones with a shocked expression]👀💥

🙅‍♂️😐[insert GIF of a character entering late to the party, looking awkward]🤦‍♀️

But honestly tho... I think it's more like [insert meme of a cat sitting on a throne, looking smug] 🐈 👑

I think this whole thing is like a perfect example of how our politicians think they're always going in at the right time 🤔. You got these new characters, like Brienne or the Hot Priest, and they shake things up big time. But what if they came in earlier? Would it have changed the entire course of events? That's what I'd love to know.

And let's be real, some shows just don't work out, no matter how hard you try to revive them 🤷‍♀️. It's like those politicians who are always trying to pivot mid-speech, but really they're just confusing everyone more. Anyway, back to the characters... I'm rooting for someone like Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones. Her arrival in later seasons was a total game-changer, and she totally deserves her spot as one of the show's standout characters 💁‍♀️.

I think those last few episodes of Game of Thrones where we finally got to see some resolution for Sansa would've been a lot more impactful if she had just popped up in season 5 or 6 like the Hot Priest did in Fleabag 🤔. You know, give us some context about what's going on with her family and kingdom before they bring her back in. But at the same time, I kinda love how they played it out when they finally introduced her - it was so satisfying to see all those plot threads come together 💡.

And can we talk about that character from Westworld for a sec? They introduced him like 2 episodes before the finale and just dropped this massive bombshell on us. It was like... what even happened there? 😱 Needed some context, you feel? But I guess it was kinda cool that they didn't give us any info beforehand - kept us guessing till the end 🤓.

Anyways, gotta say my go-to character is still Cersei from Game of Thrones. She's just so masterfully done 🤑. That last season though... could've used a few more subtle hints about what was coming 🤔.
