Report: Brainiac Will Be the Big Bad in 'Man of Tomorrow'

DC's latest plans have been revealed, as it appears that James Gunn is gearing up to pit Superman against a formidable foe in 'Man of Tomorrow'. According to The Wrap, Brainiac will be the primary antagonist in the highly anticipated film, forcing an unlikely alliance between the iconic superhero and his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor.

The twist comes after Lex's imprisonment in the previous installment, where he finds himself teaming up with Rick Flag. In this new movie, it seems that even their animosity will take a backseat as they join forces to take down Brainiac - a character who has been a staple of Superman comics for decades.

Brainiac, a Coluan alien with incredible intelligence and technological prowess, has undergone significant changes since his introduction in the 1958 comic book 'Action Comics' #242. Despite his reworked character design over the years, he remains one of the most recognizable villains in the DC universe.

Gunn's decision to feature Brainiac as the main villain is not surprising, given his previous comments on Darkseid. The director has stated that he's looking to introduce new threats to the DC cinematic universe, leaving room for Brainiac to shine in 'Man of Tomorrow'.

Fans have been speculating about Brainiac's role in the film since Gunn shared a screenshot from the movie's script featuring an image of a brain on social media last year. While it was unclear at the time what this meant, fans quickly jumped to conclusions, and now it seems that those theories may have been correct.

The movie itself is currently set for release in 2027 and is expected to enter production in the spring next year. With Gunn at the helm, expectations are high for 'Man of Tomorrow', and the addition of Brainiac as the primary villain has many fans excited to see how this unlikely alliance will play out on screen.

Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฎ, I'm loving the direction they're taking with Superman! Brainiac is such an iconic villain, it's about time he got some attention on the big screen. The idea of Lex and Rick teaming up is a game changer, it adds this whole new layer of complexity to their characters. Interesting ๐Ÿค” how Gunn is shaking things up by introducing new threats to the universe, can't wait to see Brainiac in action!

idk why they're making brainiac the main baddie tho ๐Ÿค” i mean don't get me wrong, guy's got brains (literally) but he's no darkseid lol 2017 was supposed to be darkseid all day every day and now they're like "oh yeah, let's just swap him out for a slightly less intimidating villain" ๐Ÿ™„

๐Ÿค” So I gotta ask, what's going on here? We've got Superman teaming up with Lex Luthor, his arch-nemesis, because they're both taking down a common enemy... Brainiac ๐Ÿค–. This just goes to show that sometimes even the most unlikely of alliances can be formed in the name of justice or whatever. And let's be real, who wouldn't want to see Superman and Lex Luthor teaming up? It's like the ultimate anti-hero move! ๐Ÿ’ฅ But on a more serious note, this just shows how flexible and adaptable the DC universe is when it comes to its characters and storylines. I mean, we've seen Superman switch from being an ally of Superman himself, Lois Lane, to becoming an enemy... what's next? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Maybe we'll see a team-up with some other old foes... or maybe this is just another clever move by James Gunn to shake things up in the DC cinematic universe. ๐ŸŽฅ One thing's for sure, fans are gonna be on the edge of their seats waiting for this movie to drop! ๐Ÿ‘€

Wow! ๐Ÿคฏ Can't wait to see Brainiac as the main villain in Man of Tomorrow! Interesting that Lex and Superman are teaming up against their own animosity for the sake of taking down a common enemy. Brainiac's character design has changed so much over the years, it'll be cool to see how they update his look for the big screen ๐ŸŽฅ

Brainiac is coming for us all... ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿค–

So I'm thinking that Superman's new movie is gonna be pretty cool with Brainiac as the bad guy ๐Ÿค”... it makes sense, since they've had a complicated history in the comics, now they're teaming up against a bigger threat. And Lex Luthor isn't super mad at him either, which is interesting. Gunn knows what he's doing with Darkseid and stuff, so I'm curious to see how this all plays out on screen. Maybe it'll be a fun twist seeing Superman and Brainiac fight together for once... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿค” I'm kinda hyped about this new Superman movie... like, finally, we're getting a good twist with Brainiac as the main bad guy ๐Ÿค–. I mean, Lex and Superman teaming up? That's some crazy stuff ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. It's interesting how Gunn is trying to shake things up in the DC universe after introducing Darkseid. Can't wait to see how they pull this off on screen... fingers crossed it lives up to the hype ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Man I'm so hyped for this movie!!! ๐Ÿคฉ I mean Brainiac is like one of the most iconic villains in the DC universe, he's been around since the 50s! It's cool that Gunn is shaking things up and putting him front and center. I love how Lex and Superman are going to put aside their differences too, it's like they're finally going to be allies or something ๐Ÿค

I'm also loving the idea of a Brainiac-centric movie, it could be so cool to see his tech and brains in action on screen! And Gunn's been dropping some cryptic clues for years now, I feel like he's finally getting us ready for this moment ๐Ÿ’ก

But at the same time, I do have one concern... how is they going to make Brainiac not boring? He's so intelligent and calculating, it might be hard to make him seem villainous. Maybe Gunn can bring some new twists to his character or something ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿค” just had the craziest idea - brainiac making superman work with lex lol what's next? maybe a cameo from darkseid in the background ๐Ÿค‘ anyway, i'm hyped for man of tomorrow can't wait to see how they pull off this unlikely duo ๐Ÿ’ฅ btw, has anyone seen that sci-fi show 'westworld' on HBO? its soooo good ๐Ÿ“บ

omg i'm SO down for brainiac being the main villain in man of tomorrow!!! ๐Ÿค– i mean, can you imagine superman teaming up with lex luthor? it's like the ultimate unlikely duo ๐Ÿ’ฅ and gunn is totally genius for bringing back this classic character after his comments about darkseid. i've been speculating about brainiac's role since he shared that script screenshot last year ๐Ÿค” and now it all makes sense! the fact that they're putting brainiac in 2027, just before the spring production start date, has me thinking maybe there's gonna be some crazy pre-release teasers ๐ŸŽฅ can't wait to see how this whole story unfolds!!!

omg, I'm SO hyped about this new Superman movie ๐Ÿคฉ! The idea of an unlikely alliance between Superman and Lex Luthor is insane ๐Ÿ’ฅ. I love how it's a departure from the usual superhero vibes, you know? And Brainiac as the main villain sounds EPIC ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Superman take on this Coluan alien genius ๐Ÿค–. I'm loving James Gunn's direction so far, he's definitely got me excited for 2027 ๐ŸŽ‰. One thing that's got me curious is how they're going to make Lex and Rick Flag's team-up believable ๐Ÿ˜’. Still can't wait to see it all come together on screen! ๐Ÿ“ฝ๏ธ

Ugh ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ, another DC movie and we're stuck with a brainiac ๐Ÿ˜ด as the main bad guy? Like, come on James Gunn, can't you introduce us to some fresh villains instead of reusing old ones from comics? Brainiac's just so... tech-y ๐Ÿ’ป. And what's up with the Lex Luthor thing? Can't they just leave that plot thread alone? It feels like a leftover from the previous Superman movie ๐ŸŽฅ. I mean, I know it's cool to see these iconic characters teaming up, but can we get some actual character development instead of just shoehorning in old stuff? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿคฉ oh man I'm so hyped about this news! like brainiac is literally the ultimate Superman villain ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ’ป he's got that whole sci-fi vibe going on and his tech skills are straight fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ I loved how they changed him up from the comics but still kept the core of who he is as a character. it's so cool to see lex luthor teaming up with Rick Flag, I never saw that coming ๐Ÿคฏ it's like, what could possibly go wrong? ๐Ÿ˜‚ but for real though James Gunn is such a genius and I'm all about him bringing new threats to the table ๐Ÿ’ฅ can't wait for 'Man of Tomorrow' in 2027!!!๐ŸŽฅ

OMG u guys 4real Brainiac is a iconic villian in comics & it's dope that they're bringin him to life on screen ๐Ÿคฏ he's got the smarts & tech skills 2 take down Superman, makin an unlikely alliance w/ Lex Luthor sounds like a wild ride ๐Ÿš€

Did u no Brainiac was first introduced in 'Action Comics' #242 back in 1958? ๐Ÿ“š that's over 60 yrs ago! he's come a long way since then & his design changes have kept him lookin fresh

Gunn's previous comments on Darkseid hintin at new threats 2 the DC cinematic universe, & Brainiac fits perfectly into that bill ๐Ÿ˜Ž I think it's great he's shakin things up w/ this character choice

Brainiac's got a lot of potential 2 be a great villain, especially w/ Lex Luthor as his partner in crime ๐Ÿค let's see how it all unfolds on screen in 'Man of Tomorrow' ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿค” Life begins at the end. - C.S. Lewis ๐Ÿ“š

I'm low-key hyped about Superman's next movie, 'Man of Tomorrow'! The idea of Brainiac as the main villain sounds like a perfect fit for this reboot. I mean, who wouldn't want to see an unlikely alliance between Superman and Lex Luthor? It's all about playing the long game, folks! ๐ŸŽฅ The fact that Gunn is introducing new threats to the DC universe makes me think we're in for a wild ride. Can't wait to see how this movie turns out! ๐Ÿ˜„

I'm not sure I buy into this Brainiac thing yet... ๐Ÿค” I mean, it's been teased for a while now, but what makes Gunn think we're gonna care about some Coluan alien with a bad haircut? ๐Ÿ˜‚ And don't even get me started on Lex and Superman teaming up - that just feels like a cheap way to shake things up. I want to see more substance before I'm fully invested in this story. Where's the evidence, James Gunn? Give us something concrete instead of just "oh, it'll be cool" ๐Ÿ“
