Paul George (knee) remains out for Sixers-Celtics

The Philadelphia 76ers are facing a tough challenge when they host the Boston Celtics at home on Tuesday night, as Paul George's knee injury is expected to keep him out for an extended period.

The 35-year-old shooting guard underwent surgery on his left knee in July after suffering a third significant injury in roughly 10 months. The arthroscopic procedure has derailed George's season so far, with the nine-time All-Star logging only 41 appearances in his first season with the Sixers. As a result, he is now likely to miss at least the first 11 games of his second campaign in Philadelphia.

While George's absence is a significant blow to the team, another player who has been struggling with injuries could be returning soon. Jared McCain, who had a thumb splint and knee brace during practice on Monday, was listed as available for Tuesday's game against the Celtics.

However, two other players are dealing with more serious injuries that will keep them out of action. Dominick Barlow suffered an elbow laceration that has forced him to miss nine full games, while Johni Broome sprained his ankle during his NBA G League debut on Saturday afternoon and is currently unavailable for both legs of the team's weekend back-to-back.

The Sixers' injury report released on Monday provides a glimpse into the challenges that coach Ime Udoka faces in terms of player management. With George, Barlow, and Broome all missing significant time, Udoka will need to rely heavily on other players, including Joel Embiid, who is not listed as injured but could still be impacted by his teammates' absences.

As the Sixers look to navigate this challenging stretch, they will have to find a way to overcome their injuries and stay competitive against a strong Celtics team.

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ I don't get why teams don't communicate better when it comes to player injuries! Like, if Barlow had an elbow laceration, wouldn't he at least let his teammates know that? It's not like they can just magically fix their own injuries or something. And what's up with the injury report on Mondays? Can't they do better than that? πŸ˜’

πŸ€” I'm kinda surprised that people are already counting on Jared McCain to fill in for Paul George. Like, he's only just getting back from his own injury, you know? And what about the other players who are still out with more serious injuries? It feels like they should be the ones getting priority medical attention first. πŸ₯ Meanwhile, coach Ime Udoka is gonna have to get creative with his lineups and strategies if he wants the Sixers to stay competitive. Hopefully, they can figure it out without losing too much momentum... πŸ’”

πŸ€” This is like when life throws you curveballs (literally!) and we gotta adjust our game plan mid-stream... I mean, mid-season πŸ€. It's tough on the players, but it's also an opportunity for others to step up & show what they're made of πŸ’ͺ. Remember, setbacks can be blessings in disguise, 'cause sometimes it takes a little nudge to find our true potential πŸ”“. The question is, how will Ime Udoka manage his team's psyche & keep everyone motivated despite all these injuries? It's like when we face obstacles, do we give up or get creative & find a way around 'em πŸ’‘?

Ugh, come on guys! Paul George's knee injury is not a surprise, I've been saying that since July πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. And now he's out for at least 11 games? That's some bad timing right there. But you know who's not doing much better? Jared McCain... just kidding, he's available again! πŸ˜… Anyway, back to the team's woes. It's clear that coach Udoka has his work cut out for him with all these injuries piling up. And yeah, Embiid is always a concern, but he can't do it alone, you know? The Sixers need some other players to step up and show they're not just relying on Joel to carry the team. It's gonna be a tough stretch, but let's see if they can pull it off πŸ’ͺ!

I'm calling foul on the 76ers' chances against the Celtics without Paul George πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, he's a nine-time All-Star for a reason! His injury is huge, and they're gonna have to find another way to score points besides him. Jared McCain's thumb issue might be good news, but it's not like he's a superstar or anything... πŸ˜’ Joel Embiid can only do so much, you know? The rest of the team has gotta step up their game if they wanna compete against Boston πŸš€. And let's not forget about those other injuries... Dominick Barlow and Johni Broome are gonna be out for a while, that's just too much to ask from the bench players πŸ‘Ž.

I'm low-key worried about the 76ers right now πŸ€• They're gonna struggle with all these injuries, especially with George out for an extended period πŸ’” I mean, he's a game-changer on the court, so his absence is huge. But it's good to hear that Jared McCain might be getting close to returning - that's some positive news 🌞 On the other hand, Barlow and Broome are dealing with more serious injuries, which could keep them out for a while... this season's gonna be all about finding ways to get everyone on the court without getting hurt πŸ˜…

Ugh, I'm so done with these injury reports πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Can't even get excited for a game without wondering if another key player is going to go down with an injury. And what's up with the lack of clarity on when guys are coming back? Jared McCain might be available, but does that mean he'll actually play? I swear, it's like they're just throwing players out there and hoping something sticks πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And don't even get me started on how this affects the team's overall strategy... coach Ime Udoka is going to have his work cut out for him trying to keep everyone healthy 😬.

ugh, another season, another string of injuries... can't even go 5 games without losing a key player πŸ€• it's like, what's the plan here? coach udoka has his work cut out for him. george's absence is huge, but mccain might be able to chip in and keep things semi-decent. meanwhile, barlow and broome are out for a while... just can't seem to get that injury luck to change for these guys 🀞 still got faith in embiid tho, he'll try to carry the team on his back again πŸ’ͺ hope they can stay competitive against celtics, but it's gonna be tough πŸ“‰

Omg u guys I'm so done w/ teams dat cant even keep 1 player healthy!! Paul George is a 9-time All Star and now he's stuck on the bench b/c of another injury πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, meanwhile Jared McCain who's been struggling w/ injuries might be back but its not like it matters since George is out for a while. And dont even get me started on Dominick Barlow and Johni Broome - 9 games out already? coach Ime Udoka needs to figure out some magic w/ these players bc the Sixers are gonna struggle 4 sure πŸš«πŸ’”

This team's injury woes are a perfect metaphor for our country's healthcare system - it's all about who you know, not what you need. I mean, think about it, Paul George gets a third surgery in one year, and suddenly he's out for who-knows-how-long? Meanwhile, Jared McCain's thumb splint is barely holding up, but now he's good to go? It just doesn't add up! πŸ€”

And what about the Sixers' management of their players? It's like they're playing a game of injury roulette - "Will Dominick Barlow's elbow laceration be the deciding factor in our season?" 🎲 Coach Ime Udoka needs to get his team's house in order, and fast! Can he really rely on Joel Embiid to carry the load? I hope so, but it'll be tough without their top players. This is a classic case of the "strong teams" vs. "injured underdogs" debate - who will come out on top? πŸ’ͺ

ugh i was so hyped for paul george's return but now idk what's gonna happen ... he's been a major factor in our season so far and his absence is gonna hurt. i mean, jared mccain might be back soon which is a plus, but dominick barlow & johni broome are out for a while which is no good πŸ€•πŸ€. coach udoka's gotta find a way to balance the team without george, but at least embiid's still playing so that's a silver lining πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Ugh, I'm so worried about the 76ers! Losing Paul George for an extended period is huge, but it's also good that Jared McCain might be back soon 🀞. I wonder if they can manage their players' time without having too many injuries... it seems like Joel Embiid will have to take on even more responsibilities 😬. How do you think the team will cope with this?

πŸ€• oh man, another injury outbreak in Philly πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ! Paul George is out for at least 11 games, that's huge blow for the Sixers ⚫️. I was hoping they'd get some momentum going with him on board, but now it looks like they'll have to regroup and find a way to win without their top gun 🎯. On the bright side, Jared McCain seems to be on track to return soon 🀞, so that's a plus! But those other two injuries, Dominick Barlow and Johni Broome, are gonna keep the team on their toes for sure 😬. Coach Udoka is gonna have his work cut out for him, but Joel Embiid might just be the man to carry the load βš”οΈπŸ‘Š

ugh man... paul george's injury is like a punch to the gut lol. he was having such an amazing season too πŸ€•. but you gotta feel for him, 35 and still killing it on the court. i hope he makes a speedy recovery so he can get back out there and lead his team to victory πŸ’ͺ. meanwhile, jared mccain's return is like a ray of sunshine 🌞. let's keep those injuries at bay and see how far this team can go πŸ”₯.

man its crazy how some teams are getting hit with so many injuries at once 🀯 like paul george is supposed to be out for like 3 months already and now he's gonna miss even more games... meanwhile jared mccain might be back in the mix soon, but idk if that'll make a huge difference since they're already shorthanded on other fronts πŸ“‰ it's tough to see the sixers struggling with all these injuries, especially when you gotta rely so heavily on one guy like joel embiid...

πŸ€”πŸ’¦ So I was thinking about the 76ers' season and how tough it is for them with all these injuries πŸš‘πŸ’‰. Paul George's knee injury is really bad news, I mean who wants to miss almost half a season? 😞 Jared McCain's return is a good sign though, he's been practicing and looks ready to go πŸ’ͺ🏽.

But, like, coach Ime Udoka has his work cut out for him 🀯. He needs to find ways to get his team working together despite all these injuries πŸ’¬. Joel Embiid is gonna have a huge role to play here πŸ‘Š. The Celtics are gonna be tough opponents no matter what, so I'm not expecting the 76ers to win any easy games πŸ†.

I don't know, maybe they'll find some magic solution or something ✨? But if they can't get their injuries sorted out, it's gonna be a long season for them πŸ”΄βš«οΈ.
