especially compared to like 2018 when it was already a big deal

856 victims is insane, but at least it's a 5% decrease from last year

gotta give props to Mayor Mamdani and NYPD Commissioner Tisch for their data-driven strategy

deploying more officers to high-crime areas and removing guns off the streets has clearly made a difference
but here's the thing: we can't just pat ourselves on the back yet

youth violence is still a major concern and domestic violence is on the rise

gotta keep working on those underlying social issues if we wanna see real progress

hope our new Department of Community Safety does some magic
