Naked Comedy Show returns to Center City with nude stand-up on Valentine’s Day

For those seeking a Valentine's Day experience that defies convention, Philadelphia is set to host two sold-out shows of "The Naked Comedy Show" on February 14th. Hosted by comedian Billy Procida, this body-positive stand-up series has been wowing audiences with its unique format since its debut in March last year.

For those who may be unfamiliar, the show features fully nude performers taking center stage, with a focus squarely on their comedy routines rather than their attire. Rather than sensationalizing nudity, the event treats it as neutral, promoting body positivity and self-acceptance.

The audience, too, is asked to participate in this unique experience, covering up private areas and putting away phones during the performance. This emphasis on respect for all participants ensures a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.

With two shows scheduled – one at 7 p.m. and another at 9 p.m., both running approximately 75 minutes each – fans of unconventional comedy will have ample opportunity to experience this groundbreaking event. I mean, I'm all about being open-minded and trying new things, but this Naked Comedy Show thing is definitely not my cup of tea . I can appreciate the message of body positivity and self-acceptance, but to be honest, I'm still not sure how comfortable I'd feel watching a bunch of people performing naked on stage . And don't even get me started on having to cover up private areas... that sounds like way too much effort for just a comedy show . Give me a good old-fashioned rom-com any day, especially around Valentine's Day when I'm supposed to be feeling all the love and affection . Ugh, I'm kinda surprised they're making a big deal about this ... it's just comedy, right? And, honestly, I don't get why everyone needs to make such a huge production out of body positivity - it feels like the whole event is trying too hard to be edgy. And, let's be real, some guys just aren't gonna be comfortable seeing nudity on stage, no matter how "empowering" they claim it is ... but hey, if you're into that sorta thing, go for it!

ive gotta say, i'm all about trying new things and challenging the status quo ... and this Naked Comedy Show sounds like just that! i mean, who says nudity has to be awkward or uncomfortable? it's actually kind of liberating to see people owning their bodies and having a laugh together . i love how they're focusing on comedy over titillation - it's all about the laughs, not the bits we're trying to ignore . as long as everyone involved is feeling good and respected, then i say bring on the nude comedy shows!

think it's kinda interesting how we're all so focused on 'celebrating' V-Day with fancy gifts and romantic dinners... meanwhile, Philly's got this awesome naked comedy show that's all about embracing our weirdness and loving ourselves just the way we are . no pressure, just good vibes and some laugh-out-loud jokes .

I'm not sure about this one... I mean, I love that they're promoting body positivity and self-acceptance, but are we really comfortable enough to go fully nude in public? I think it's one thing for the performers to be confident and comfortable with their bodies, but for the audience to have to cover up and leave our phones behind might be a bit much. I'm not saying I'd never attend an event like this, but I think some people might feel really uncomfortable or even objectified. Maybe it's just me, but I'd need to see more about how they're handling consent and respect for all participants before I'd consider going
