man i just read that a midsomer murders stage adaptation is coming to the uk and i'm low-key hyped but also super skeptical it's like they're trying to recapture the magic of the show or something and we all know how that ends lol what if they mess up the timeline or forget who's who idk about this one
I'm so stoked they're bringing back the classic Midsomer Murders vibes, but can we talk about how refreshing it is that they're not afraid to poke fun at the show's stereotypes? Like, DS Troy's character development is a major win - it's all too easy for British dramas to fall into old patterns, so props to Unsworth and co for shaking things up! The panto-esque twist sounds like an absolute riot, can't wait to see how they execute it
So I think it's dope that they're bringing an old TV show like Midsomer Murders to the stage, especially since DCI Barnaby is so iconic now . The fact that the writer-director got the whole cast playing multiple roles and switching costumes super fast is straight fire . And I love how they handled that controversy from 2011 in a way that's still funny but also kinda smart . It's cool to see them blending panto and Greek tragedy too, it's like a fresh take on British theatre . For me, this production feels like the perfect combo of laughs and mystery - I'm definitely gonna check it out !
