Twin sisters and musical collaborators Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee and Allison Crutchfield of Swearin' have reunited under the moniker Snocaps, unleashing a surprise new album. The self-titled record marks the first new music from the duo since their P.S. Eliot days in 2011.
Snocaps contains 13 tracks, showcasing the talents of all four musicians - MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook, frequent Waxahatchee collaborators who have lent their skills to her previous albums. The group has created a diverse soundscape, with Lenderman and Cook contributing backing vocals and playing instruments across the record.
The album was produced by Cook, whose production work has been integral to Crutchfield's music since 2020's Saint Cloud. Engineering duties were handled by Cook as well.
In a statement, Allison and Katie expressed their excitement about working together again. "Allison and I have been, in some way, shape or form, doing this together for over 20 years," said Katie. The sisters will be performing a handful of shows at the end of the year, but have not yet revealed further details.
The tracklist for Snocaps features an array of titles including "Coast", "Heathcliff", and "Avalanche". Fans can expect another treat from these musical collaborators after years apart.
