. like come on, the woman's parents are from irish and venezuela, she's not exactly italian. but i guess when you're a global superstar like mariah, you can just make up a cool fact about your heritage and people will believe it

but what really threw me off was the lack of subtitles in italics for people who don't speak italian

! Like, come on, folks! It's just a performance. If you're gonna complain, be specific, right? "Mariah Carey doesn't belong here" is way more annoying than "why did she sing in Italian?"

my aunt is from Italy and we've always loved Mariah's Christmas songs, but this Italian thing just doesn't add up
