Ireland vs Australia: Bundee Aki striving to reach 'another level' at 35

Ireland faces a stiff test against Australia at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, with Bundee Aki determined to reach another level for his country despite struggling with form. The 35-year-old Connacht centre started two British and Irish Lions Tests against Australia in the summer but was left out of Ireland's defeat by New Zealand in Chicago last month.

Aki has been named as a replacement for Saturday's Test against Australia, where he will look to recapture the form that earned him a nomination for World Rugby player of the year in 2023. However, he admits that his form is not where he wants it to be and must adapt to Ireland's changing dynamics.

With the likes of Robbie Henshaw, Garry Ringrose, Stuart McCloskey, and Tom Farrell vying for positions, Aki knows he needs to take his game to another level. "We have such healthy competition in the Irish group," he said. "It's a matter of how much you can improve your game and take it to another level."

Aki is also aware that age will be a factor in his career, with the 2027 Rugby World Cup looming large. However, he believes coaches understand players' needs and that Ireland's strength and condition teams are doing their part to ensure he is ready for when called upon.

When asked where Ireland stands at the midpoint of the World Cup cycle, Aki said they are building nicely and learning on the go. "There's a transition period at the moment," he added, "but guys are finding their feet and starting to play how they want to play the game."

What's with Bundee Aki always getting dropped? He's been around for ages but can't seem to regain his form ๐Ÿค”. I mean, 35 and still playing like he's 25 is impressive, but you've got to step it up! The young blood at Ireland is killing him... er, I mean, helping the team ๐Ÿ˜‚. These Irish centres are so talented, I'm surprised Aki gets any game time at all. I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles when you're a veteran player ๐Ÿช.

๐Ÿค” So Ireland's gonna take on Australia and Aki is comin' off the bench? Thinks he can turn it around after strugglin' with form lately ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Like, 35 and still goin' strong, fair play to him! ๐Ÿ’ช But seriously, Bundee's got some big shoes to fill with all these talented centres on Ireland's team... Robbie Henshaw, Garry Ringrose, Stuart McCloskey, Tom Farrell - it's a tough act to follow ๐Ÿ‰. And let's be real, age is gonna be a factor in the next few years... 2027 World Cup, right? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Still think Aki can make it happen though! ๐Ÿ‘Š

๐Ÿค” Australia better watch out for Bundee Aki ๐Ÿšจ, he's looking to bounce back from that tough patch and lead Ireland to victory ๐Ÿ’ช. It's great to see him acknowledging his form isn't where it needs to be and taking steps to improve ๐Ÿ”ฅ. The competition in Ireland is fierce though ๐Ÿ˜ฌ, so Aki'll need to bring his A-game if he wants to stay ahead of the pack ๐Ÿ†.

Aki needs to just relax and be himself, you know? All this talk about "taking it to another level" is like, so extra ๐Ÿ˜…. He's got 35 yrs under his belt, he's still a top player. Don't try to fit into someone else's mold, mate! ๐Ÿ™

And let's be real, those other blokes vying for spots? They're all talented in their own ways, but they ain't gonna take Aki's place without him stepping up his game ๐Ÿ’ช. He needs to trust the process and not worry about what others think.

The 2027 World Cup is looming, yeah, we get it ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. But if he keeps showing up on game day with a positive attitude and a bit of magic in his playmaking boots ๐Ÿ”ฎ, Ireland's golden ๐Ÿ…

๐Ÿค” I mean, Bundee Aki is still an awesome player! ๐Ÿ™Œ He's been through some ups and downs with his form lately, but you can tell he's really hungry for a good performance against Australia. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ The thing is, Ireland's got an amazing squad right now, and it's tough to get playing time when everyone's on top of their game ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ. Aki knows this, so I'm sure he'll be extra motivated to step up his game ๐Ÿ”„. And yeah, the age factor can't be ignored - 2027 is getting close! โฐ๐Ÿ’จ But from what I've seen of him in the past, I still think he's got a lot to offer ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Fingers crossed for Ireland on Saturday! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

I think its great that Bundee Aki is getting another chance to shine for Ireland ๐Ÿ™Œ! 35 and still going strong, thats what matters. His form might be off at the moment but he's got a clear goal in mind - take his game to the next level ๐Ÿ”ฅ and help the team do well in the World Cup. With all these talented players vying for spots its like music to my ears to see Ireland experimenting with different lineups ๐ŸŽต. Only time will tell if Aki can recapture that 2023 form, but I'm optimistic about his chances ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿค” just think about it, Bundee Aki is like us when our favorite tool breaks down lol... we try out different solutions till we find what works ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ. He's been struggling with form but still determined to improve. I'd say he needs to focus on his game rather than worrying about his age ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. The Irish squad has some talented players, so Aki's gotta bring his A-game if he wants to stay in the starting lineup ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. But honestly, it's all about adapting and being willing to learn ๐Ÿ“š... that's what us DIYers do best! ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ˜ฌ I gotta feel for Bundee Aki, struggling with form is never easy. But you know what? Age is just a number, right? ๐Ÿค” He's still got the passion and drive, that's what matters. And Ireland's got some talented young guns like Henshaw & Ringrose to push him, it's all part of the competition ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Aki's gotta keep pushing himself, but I think he'll get back on track soon ๐Ÿ’ช.

man, Bundee Aki is gonna have to bring his A-game for this one ๐Ÿคฏ Australia is gonna be tough to beat at the Aviva Stadium! Aki's been struggling with form lately, but he needs to step up his game if Ireland wanna take down the Aussies โšฝ๏ธ 35 is still pretty young for a centre, hope he can continue to perform well and lead by example ๐Ÿคž

๐Ÿ˜Š I'm thinking Ireland's gonna need more than just Bundee Aki to take down Australia, you feel? Like, don't get me wrong, Aki's a legend and all, but with that team they've got, it's like, what's the plan B if he's off his game again? ๐Ÿค” Still, gotta give him props for staying positive and focused on improvement. And I love how he's talking about taking his game to another level - that's the kinda mindset we need in sports! ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’ช

omg i cant wait 2 c bundee aki back 2 form!!! ๐Ÿคž he was so underrated in 2023 but now hes like one of those players u just dont wanna watch if hes not playing lol. anyway, i think irland has a tough match against australia but i gotta root 4 aki cuz he's my boy ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช. im sure the aussies are gonna give them a run 4 their money tho ๐Ÿค”. age is def gonna be a factor in the world cup tho, hope our boys are ready for it ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ. btw, i cant believe we dont have any live stream links in ireland ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜ฉ. how r u guys watching the match? ๐Ÿ“บ

omg i feel bad for bunde aki ๐Ÿ˜Š, he's been thru some tough times with his form and it's awesome that ireland is gonna give him another chance. 35 and still bringin' it ๐Ÿ’ช! but seriously, he knows he needs to step up his game and compete with those younger guys like robbie henshaw & garry ringrose ๐Ÿคฏ. age will be a factor soon tho ๐Ÿ˜ฌ, the 2027 rugby world cup is just around the corner...but for now, i think ireland's got some good vibes goin' on ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿค” I don't know about this Bundee Aki guy, always talking about taking his game to another level... like what does that even mean? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Is it just code for 'I'm not getting any younger' at 35? ๐Ÿ™ƒ He's got some decent competition with the rest of the Irish squad, and I guess it's good they're all pushing each other to improve. But do we really need a bunch of mid-twenties guys trying to out-do each other on the pitch? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ And what about the pressure of the World Cup in 2027? Are the coaching staff just going to magically make him and everyone else younger and more athletic overnight? ๐Ÿ™„

Man, I'm so stoked for Bundee Aki! He's gotta get back in form ASAP or else he'll be on the bench watching Ireland take on the likes of Robbie Henshaw ๐Ÿ‘€. I mean, I love his attitude, "we have healthy competition" and all that, but at 35, it's gonna be a battle to keep up with these young guns ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ. On the other hand, I think he's being real about the World Cup looming large โšฝ๏ธ - it's time for him to step up his game if Ireland wanna make some noise in that tournament!

omg i'm so nervous for irish rugby match lol ๐Ÿ˜… bundee aka is like my fave player ever!!! ๐Ÿคฉ i know he's been struggling but i still got faith in him ๐Ÿ™ he's only 35 tho so i guess that's a big plus right? ๐Ÿ˜‰ gotta love how focused he is on improving his game ๐Ÿ“ˆ and yeah age will be a thing soon but like coaches are always looking out for the players ๐Ÿค hope irish team can get some wins under their belt before the world cup ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

Ugh, this is gonna be a tough one for Ireland ๐Ÿค”... Like, what's going on with Aki's form? He was so good last year but now he's struggling and gets left out of games ๐Ÿ™„. And with all these other talented players in the team, like Henshaw and Ringrose, it's even harder for him to get a spot ๐Ÿ’”. I mean, 35 is old for a rugby player, btw... The pressure's on, and I'm not sure Ireland can rely on Aki to perform when it matters most ๐Ÿค•. What if he doesn't make it to the 2027 World Cup? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

๐Ÿค” So, you're telling me Bundee Aki's career is like Ireland's rugby team right now - struggling to find its footing ๐Ÿ‰? I mean, this guy has been named as a replacement for the Aussie Test and he's gotta step up his game โฌ†๏ธ. But here's the thing, does that say anything about the state of Irish rugby? Are they relying too much on Aki to carry the team like it's 2023 all over again ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ?

And let's be real, what's with all these young guns vying for positions ๐Ÿ”ฅ? Robbie Henshaw, Garry Ringrose, Stuart McCloskey, and Tom Farrell... each one of them thinking they're the next big thing ๐ŸŒŸ. Meanwhile, Aki's just trying to keep up ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

It's like Ireland's rugby team is stuck in a mid-term crisis - what were they doing before they started playing all these new kids? ๐Ÿ’ก Are they building for the future or just trying to survive the present?

I'm worried about Bundee Aki's form for Ireland's next match against Australia ๐Ÿค”. He's been struggling lately and has to step up his game if he wants to keep a spot on the team ๐Ÿ‰. With all these talented players vying for positions like Robbie Henshaw, Garry Ringrose, Stuart McCloskey, and Tom Farrell, Aki needs to take it to another level โฌ†๏ธ.

I mean, we know that at 35, his age is going to be a factor in the long run, especially with the 2027 Rugby World Cup coming up ๐Ÿ“†. But he's confident that the coaches are on top of things and that Ireland's strength and condition teams are doing their part to get him ready ๐Ÿ’ช.

It's great to see Aki being realistic about his situation though โ€“ we all know it's not going to be easy for him, especially with this healthy competition ๐Ÿค. But hey, if he can find a way to recapture that form that earned him a nomination for World Rugby player of the year in 2023, Ireland will be happy to have him back on the pitch ๐Ÿ˜Š.

I'm loving this test against Australia ๐Ÿ™Œ! I think Bundee Aki is gonna come out on top, he needs to just get back to his form from a few years ago ๐Ÿ˜Š. The lad's been through some tough times with the Lions and then getting dropped for Ireland, but he's still got the talent & experience to make a difference.

You know what really gets me though? All these young players coming in now ๐Ÿคฏ - Henshaw, Ringrose, McCloskey... they're all super talented, but sometimes I feel like we're losing that bit of veteran know-how ๐Ÿ’”. Aki's got the experience & understanding to help guide them, so fingers crossed he gets back to his best soon! ๐Ÿ˜…
