Brandi Carlile is set to take the stage as host of Saturday Night Live this weekend, leaving Miles Teller in her dust - or at least, that's what his co-star Ashley Padilla seems to think. In a series of promos for the episode, Padilla jokingly accuses Teller of not noticing her new haircut before Carlile swoops in to claim the hosting gig.
The jab from Padilla was met with Teller's nonchalant response, stating that they've "never met before." However, it appears that Brandi Carlile did indeed notice, as she quickly jumps into the spotlight and declares herself the host. The singer/songwriter's confidence is clear, leaving Padilla to gleefully announce her win.
What's more interesting, though, is what comes next: Padilla threatens to put Teller on notice about his singing abilities. "I hope you can sing," she says with a hint of sarcasm - a threat that Teller seems unphased by, casually responding that he "can sing." It's clear that Padille is just messing around, but still, the snarky comment could be taken as a veiled warning.
On the other hand, there are those who disagree. Keith Urban, for example, has shared videos of Teller singing on stage with him, which suggests that he may not need to worry about being roasted by Padilla or anyone else.
Carlile's hosting stint comes ahead of her promoting her latest solo album "Returning to Myself" and marks her fourth time as a musical guest on the show - making this appearance her second time in 2025 alone. Teller, meanwhile, is set to make his second hosting gig after debuting last year.
SNL will air at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC and stream on Peacock.
