New York City's Halloween is Shaping Up to Be a Windy and Dry Affair
Residents of the Big Apple can look forward to a dry but gusty Halloween as clear skies dominate the weather forecast. A strong low-pressure system moving into the area will bring wind gusts of 30-40 miles per hour starting Friday afternoon, making outdoor decorations potentially airborne.
However, meteorologist Matt Wunsch advises residents to secure any lightweight items that could become airborne, such as inflatable ghosts and other festive fixtures. "It'll be dry, but it'll be windy for all the trick-or-treaters out there," he noted.
The weekend's weather is expected to start off wet on Wednesday afternoon, with a chance of showers through Thursday afternoon and night. But by early Friday morning, skies are forecasted to clear up, only to pick up again as the system moves north and pulls away by Saturday evening.
Fortunately, this blustery weather won't be enough to dampen spirits, particularly for marathon runners taking part in the New York City Marathon on Sunday. According to Wunsch, Sunday's forecast is looking "fairly dry and seasonable" with clear skies, lighter breezes, and temperatures in the mid-50s – perfect conditions for a crisp autumn day.

anyway i guess its good that marathons are getting decent weather on sunday tho fingers crossed no rain for the runners

. I mean I get it, it's about dressing up and having fun but can't we just have some calm weather for once? My kids were looking forward to going out trick-or-treating and now they're gonna have to hold onto their costumes for dear life

that NYC is gonna be all windy on halloween i was planning to go trick-or-treating with my friends and now it sounds like our costumes are gonna fly away lol
