New Gourmet Toast Chain to Set Up Shop in Detroit
A vibrant and health-conscious cafe chain is set to arrive in Detroit, promising a fresh alternative for city residents seeking quick and nutritious options. Toastique, founded in Washington D.C. back in 2018, boasts an impressive menu that features gourmet toast, açaí bowls, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, coffees, and more.
The first-ever Toastique location will open its doors near Campus Martius park at 89 Monroe St., with plans to launch on November 8th. The store will be run by six siblings who share the same vision of providing a welcoming space that caters to the community's growing demand for healthy food options.
"We've selected Detroit as our first location because we felt like the city really needed something like this; there's so much growth happening here but not many quick and healthy options for people working or living downtown," said Nour Kanaan, one of the siblings. "Everything on the menu has a purpose behind it — every ingredient is there for a reason, and it's all nutrient-packed and full of benefits."
The Detroit store will be led by six resident siblings who are committed to building strong relationships with local artists and small businesses. Their goal is to create a loyal customer base that feels part of the Toastique family.
To celebrate its grand opening, the store will offer several deals and giveaways during the first week. Customers can look forward to $50 in rewards for the first 100 customers who spend at least $10 on November 8th, free drip coffee with any purchase on November 9th, $5 juice on tap (12 oz.) with any purchase on November 10th, free coffee or espresso with any purchase on November 11th, and discounted smoothies (16 oz.) for just $6 on November 12th.
The store will be open seven days a week from 7 am to 5 pm, providing customers with convenient access to their new favorite spot. With its impressive menu and commitment to the community, Toastique is poised to become a must-visit destination in Detroit's vibrant food scene.

. But what really stood out to me was when Nour said "everything on the menu has a purpose behind it"... makes you wonder if we're just eating out of habit or if we're truly getting something nutritious and good for us? Maybe Toastique can teach us that balance between having fun food options & still being healthy isn't so hard to achieve
