Gaza risks sliding into deadly limbo of 'no war, no peace', top Qatari diplomat warns

Qatari Diplomat Sounds Alarm Over Gaza's 'Deadly Limbo'

A top Qatari diplomat has issued a stark warning that Gaza is at risk of sliding into a deadly limbo where killing continues despite a ceasefire, unless rapid progress is made in setting up an international security force and administration to pave the way for Israel's full withdrawal.

Majed al-Ansari, adviser to Qatar's prime minister and spokesperson for the foreign ministry, expressed concern that the fragile peace may never hold if the international community fails to take concrete action. "We don't want to reach a situation of no war, no peace," he said.

The warning comes as Israeli airstrikes killed over 100 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in the deadliest day since Donald Trump declared the conflict was over. The strikes were in response to an attack on Rafah city that killed a soldier carrying out demolitions there.

Gaza's future hinges on a 20-point plan for the territory's future, which underpins the ceasefire. However, the plan sidestepped basic details including the force's mandate and membership. Qatar and regional allies want it to be backed by the UN, something US secretary of state Marco Rubio has said Washington is considering.

Ansari stressed that getting an international force in place quickly, along with a new Palestinian administration, was critical for the fragile peace to become lasting. "There is a need for the international community to go in, assess the damage, start thinking about reconstruction, working on reconstruction, and to formally keep the peace," he said.

However, hammering out the terms of international missions is a complex diplomatic process that normally takes weeks or months - time Gaza may not be able to afford. The ceasefire is under daily pressure, with both parties trading accusations of violations.

Ansari warned that there are "a lot of challenges" before the deal can be implemented, including excavating the remains of hostages killed and ascertaining their identities, as well as the ongoing violence against Palestinians at the hands of IDF soldiers.

The Trump administration's commitment is critical to the ceasefire's success, with Ansari saying it was the only thing that has "tipped the scales" in favor of a ceasefire. However, even if Trump ensures the ceasefire holds, turning his loose framework for Gaza's future into reality on the ground will be a long and difficult process.

The 20-point plan makes only the vaguest commitment towards a future of Palestinian self-rule and sovereignty, which Netanyahu's government has repeatedly opposed. Ansari acknowledged that Qatar had made significant progress in achieving the deal but warned that there was still much work to be done.

The situation remains precarious, with both parties refusing to budge on key issues. It remains to be seen whether Ansari's warnings can be heeded and whether a lasting peace can be achieved for Gaza's residents.

I'm getting really worried about Gaza ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ, but I also see this as a wake-up call for us all ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’ก. The fact that we need an international security force to keep the peace is actually a great sign - it means people are recognizing the complexity of the situation and wanting to do something about it ๐Ÿ’ช. And let's not forget that Qatar has already made significant progress on this 20-point plan, so there's still hope ๐ŸŒŸ. Of course, it's scary when you see those airstrikes happening every day... but I believe we can get through this if we all work together ๐Ÿค. Maybe instead of "deadly limbo" we could be talking about a peaceful future for Gaza where everyone has a chance to thrive ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’–.

๐Ÿค” I think the international community needs to step up their game here...I mean, 100+ Palestinians killed in one day is just unacceptable. We're all still reeling from that, but now we have Qatar sounding the alarm and no one's really doing anything about it ๐Ÿ™„. A 20-point plan sounds great on paper, but like Ansari said, getting it off the ground is a whole different story. The US, UN, and other players need to put their money where their mouth is and make some real progress happen ASAP โฑ๏ธ. We can't keep letting violence escalate like this and expect things to just magically resolve themselves ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Gaza's residents deserve better, and so do the rest of us who are tired of living in fear ๐Ÿค.

๐Ÿ’” The situation in Gaza is so tragic ๐Ÿค•. I mean, 100+ Palestinians killed, mostly women & kids? ๐Ÿคฏ It's like the clock is ticking, and if we don't get this international security force and admin in place ASAP, it'll be a never-ending cycle of violence ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. And Ansari's right, we can't just sit back and expect things to magically fix themselves ๐Ÿ™„. We need concrete action from the world community, pronto! ๐Ÿ’ช

I'm not sure if people are overreacting or being realistic about the situation in Gaza ๐Ÿค”. I mean, we're talking about an international security force and administration that would need to be set up ASAP... it sounds like a massive undertaking ๐Ÿ’ผ. And let's be real, how many times can we rely on diplomacy and the world community to step in before things get out of hand? ๐Ÿšจ

I'm also not convinced that a 20-point plan is going to magically solve all the issues here. It seems pretty vague and lacking in specifics, especially when it comes to something as contentious as Palestinian self-rule and sovereignty ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

And can we talk about how quickly things need to happen? Gaza's residents are already living in a war zone, with limited access to basic necessities like food and water. It's not like they have the luxury of time to wait for international cooperation to kick in โฑ๏ธ.

I'm just saying, it seems like a lot of people are counting on Trump's commitment to make this work, but even if he does step up, how much real progress can we expect? ๐Ÿ’ธ

man... this whole gaza thing is super worrying ๐Ÿค• i remember watching those news clips of israeli airstrikes back in 2020 and it was like, my heart just dropped to zero โฌ‡๏ธ there were so many innocent ppl caught in the crossfire... and now ansari's saying that if we don't get an international force in place ASAP, gaza might just become a perpetual war zone ๐Ÿšจ i feel like qatar is trying its best to bring some stability to the situation but it's like, easy for them to say when they're not the ones living there... and what's with netanyahu's government being all stubborn about palestinian self-rule? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ i just wanna see those ppl live in peace one day, without fear of violence or bombs dropping from the sky ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

This whole thing is just a distraction ๐Ÿ™„. Like, the US Secretary of State says they're considering backing the UN plan, but really what are they trying to achieve? It's all about control and power โšก๏ธ. And what about the 20-point plan? Sounds like a bunch of empty promises ๐Ÿ’”. Qatar's just trying to insert themselves into the situation and gain more influence in the region ๐Ÿค.

And let's not forget, this whole ceasefire is just a temporary fix ๐Ÿ”ด. The real issue is the underlying conflict and the lack of a clear solution. It's all just a game of cat and mouse between Israel and Palestine ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And what about the civilians caught in the middle? They're just pawns being used as bait for global superpowers ๐ŸŽฒ.

We need to stop looking at this through rose-tinted glasses and see it for what it is: a complex web of interests and agendas ๐Ÿ”ฎ. It's not just about Gaza or Palestine; it's about who gets to control the narrative and dictate the course of events ๐Ÿ’ญ. I'm calling BS on all of this ๐Ÿšซ.

I just saw the funniest video of a cat trying to "help" its human cook dinner ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿณ, and it was literally chasing the spatula around the kitchen, knocking over utensils everywhere ๐Ÿ˜‚. I'm like, totally serious about that cat now โ€“ it's like it has its own tiny chef hat on ๐Ÿ‘’. Meanwhile, back in Gaza... yeah, that sounds super dire ๐Ÿ’”. Can we just get an international peace force and let humans handle their stuff for a bit? ๐Ÿ™„ No pressure or anything, Qatar dude ๐Ÿ˜…

this is so heartbreaking the thought of over 100 innocent lives lost ๐Ÿค• it's like the cycle of violence just won't break, people are getting killed on both sides and we're still waiting for real change ๐Ÿ’” i mean what's taking so long to set up this international security force ansari's warning isn't just alarmist, it's a cry for help from a territory that's being held hostage ๐Ÿšจ has anyone else noticed how slow this diplomatic process is? ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ

come on ppl whats going on in gaza its like a never ending nightmare 100+ palestinians killed and the intl community is just sitting around twiddling their thumbs whats the plan here?? qatar is trying to save face but at the end of the day nobody wants to step up they all wanna play it safe ansari said its like we dont want war no peace scenario kinda scary tbh idk how long ppl can take this 20 point plan wasnt even close to being concrete anyway whats the diff btw the ceasefire and actual peace??

๐Ÿค” this qatari diplomat is super worried about gaza ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. like, he thinks the ceasefire might not hold unless they get an int'l security force in place ASAP ๐Ÿ•’. but there are so many challenges to overcome ๐Ÿคฏ, like figuring out who's dead and where ๐Ÿ‘€. it's crazy that we're still stuck on this delicate situation โš–๏ธ. i think qatar is trying to help facilitate a peace deal, but it's not gonna be easy ๐Ÿ’ช. the 20-point plan is just the start โญ๏ธ. can't wait to see what happens next ๐Ÿ“Š

๐Ÿคž this situation is super worrisome - like, the lives of innocent ppl in gaza r hanging by a thread ๐ŸŒช๏ธ & it's hard 2 watch. major progress needs 2 b made ASAP 4 an int'l security force & admin to be set up in Gaza, or else it'll just keep being stuck in this limbo where violence keeps escalating ๐Ÿ’ฅ. i'm so tired of hearing about ppl getting caught in the middle of this conflict ๐Ÿค• & wanting peace for gaza is like, my heart's desire ๐Ÿ’– u gotta feel for these ppl who r suffering 4c ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿคž this is getting super intense i feel so bad for all those ppl caught in the middle its like, we need an international force ASAP to keep everyone safe & work on reconstruction thats what ansari said anyway hope qatar & the un can get on board with the 20-point plan hopefully they can hammer out the details soon ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ time is of the essence here

Gaza is literally stuck in limbo right now ๐Ÿคฏ The Qatari diplomat is spot on, we need an international security force and administration ASAP to prevent more bloodshed. I'm not surprised that the Trump admin was crucial in tipping the scales towards a ceasefire, but the real challenge lies in turning it into concrete action ๐Ÿ’ช

The 20-point plan is vague, to say the least ๐Ÿค” What exactly does "Palestinian self-rule and sovereignty" even mean? We need more clarity on this ASAP. And let's not forget the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been ongoing for decades, so we can't just expect everything to magically fall into place overnight โฑ๏ธ

Ansari's warning about excavating the remains of hostages is a harsh reality check ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ It's heartbreaking to think that Gaza may be stuck in this cycle of violence forever. We need to come together as an international community and make some real progress on setting up a sustainable peace ๐ŸŒŽ

Wow ๐Ÿคฏ this is so sad. 100+ Palestinians killed in one day is just insane ๐Ÿ’€. I think an international force would really help stabilize the situation, but it sounds like it's going to take some time to figure out the details โฐ. And the fact that there are still people missing and their identities unknown is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿ˜”.

๐Ÿค” I mean come on, 100+ Palestinians dead already and we're still debating if there should be an international security force in place? Like, what took us so long? We've had wars, we've had ceasefires, when are we gonna get it right? ๐Ÿ™„ It's all about politics as usual. Qatar's trying to insert itself into this mess and the US is like "oh no, let's just sit on our hands". Meanwhile, Israel keeps pushing Gaza around like it's a toy. We need some real action here, not just a bunch of empty promises ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ’ธ

๐Ÿค” i dont think its fair to say the international community is just gonna swoop in and save gaza like that, especially with us secretary of state rubio making it clear that washington wants some kinda involvement. its not just about throwing money at reconstruction or something, theres actual politics at play here

๐Ÿค” I mean, come on, 20-point plan is just a bunch of fluff right? What's the point of having all these fancy plans if nobody's gonna actually do anything about 'em? ๐Ÿค‘ It's like they're tryin' to paper over the problems instead of fixin' 'em. And don't even get me started on this whole "international security force" thing... who gets to decide that? ๐Ÿค The US is just gonna step in and start tellin' everyone what to do, no thanks! ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ What about Palestine's own people? Shouldn't they be the ones makin' these decisions? ๐Ÿ™„
