Elmhurst 'high-rise' development stirs worry over gentrification in Queens

🤔 I'm not sure why they're having a hard time deciding on this one... like, if you're gonna build something, just build something right, ya know? 🏠 This whole "gentrification" thing is kinda overplayed. It's just development, it's progress. And if the city can find a way to make sure it's affordable and benefits the community, then I'm down for it. But if they're gonna keep stringing people along with promises of "affordable housing"... 🤦‍♀️ trust me, I've seen this before.

omg u guys this elmhurst situation is getting sooo intense i mean i get it both sides have valid points but like what about all the ppl who've been living in that neighborhood for decades?! they're not just gonna be pushed out because of some fancy new high-rise i'm all for affordable housing and economic growth but we gotta make sure its done in a way that benefits the community not just some big corp trying to make a quick buck

i feel bad for brianna cea and her community members they sound like they're fighting for their lives over here and i would too if i were in their shoes what's the point of having a councilmember if they can't even get it right?
